PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?
NICOLINO: I chose DMACC because I felt like it was a perfect fit for me. After going on my visit and meeting all the coaches I could tell that the coaching staff there would push me to reach my full potential. DMACC also has a strong reputation for creating great baseball players that are able to move on to the next level. 

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
NICOLINO: Other schools that I was considering were, Marshalltown CC, Iowa Lakes CC, Northwestern (NAIA), Mount Mercy, Northwest Missouri State, and Ellsworth CC.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with him?
NICOLINO: The coaching staff first saw me at Iowa Sticks Uncommitted Senior night. A couple weeks later my PBR Uncommitted Spotlight came out on Twitter and that’s when Coach Higginbotham at DMACC called me and asked if I’d be interested in a visit. Once I went on a visit and met the coaches I knew it was the place for me.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
NICOLINO: I feel really relieved to have a decision made.  It is a little strange though to be done - I was doing recruiting stuff almost every day and its weird not doing any of that now! I am glad that I can now focus on preparing for next year, and my senior season.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
NICOLINO: The coaching staff.  All the coaches were very honest on where they see me fitting in.  I really liked their coaching philosophy and definitely think they can help me reach the next level.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
NICOLINO: My parents have been a big help during this whole process, from helping me put together some of my first emails to taking me on visits and obviously putting in the money and time for me to get better. 

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
NICOLINO: I was expecting the recruiting process to be very easy and be over quickly but the longer it went on the more difficult it was.  All the coaches I met with were great and made it really hard to pick a program! Each school had unique plusses and minuses so comparing them was really difficult.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
NICOLINO: The coaching staff plans to continue to develop me as a baseball player and help me reach the highest level of baseball I can.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
NICOLINO: My most memorable baseball moment to date would have to be my first ever high school home run against Johnston last year. 

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
NICOLINO: The best baseball player I have competed against would have to be Iowa Freshman Peyton Williams. We played him and Johnston at the beginning of the baseball season last year when they were unstoppable. I'm pretty sure he hit a home run and 3 doubles in our doubleheader in which they beat us 24-4 and 11-0.
