In conjunction with the Woodbat Exposure Tournament; Prep Baseball Report Iowa assisted in reporting, player evaluation, and scoring updates throughout the tournament; along with facilitating a pre-tournament identification showcase before the event.
Today we highlight a few of the many numerous stand-out individual performances during the showcase and game portions of the weekend.
game highlights
+ Colby Gomes, RHP, 2018 (Omaha Elite Red)- U. Nebraska commit. 6-foot-4, 185-pound frame. Long, loose, and athletic. In first inning Gomes sat 89-92 mph from whippy ¾ arm slot with considerable late run for strikes. Gomes slider was much better than when I previously saw him in May. Had consistent 10/4 shape, repeated for quality strikes, and had hard break with depth at 78-79 mph.
