Below are some notable performances as observed by our scouting staff from the Prep Baseball Iowa Upper Midwest World Series (Underclass 16U).

WEEKEND STANDOUTS

The 2024 Team Midwest Junior Future Games alum went 7-for-11 (.636) with three extra base hits and drove in six and scored another eight himself for the Iowa Sticks. He’s been up to 81 on the mound and runs a 7.3. With a six-foot-two frame, he should be adding strength as he matures. Should be a solid follow in this class.

+ Cade Newman (2027, 3B/1B, Ankeny Centennial) showcased well over the weekend for 3T’s Dawgs 16U. The corner infielder was 4-for-7 with 2 triples, 4 walks and stole 2 bases. At 6-foot-4 and 180 pounds, Newman has projectable actions in the infield and is a quick rotator in the box with speed around the bases. He’s currently ranked 27th in Iowa’s 2027s.

+ Jack Tooke (2027, RHP, Mandan) with the Dakota Select shows a lot of athleticism on the mound and was up to 87 in his outing while cruising in the 83-85 range. His slider was tight with a late break, traveling in at 74 to 77. He collected 10 strikeouts in four innings of work. Currently 36th in Minnesota’s 2027 rankings.

+ Cade Hamilton (2027, 1B/3B, East Ridge) brought heavy artillery to the tournament, dropping two doubles and a home run for Blizzard 2027 Blue. The corner infielder has present strength and size in the box
