2024 Prep Baseball Iowa Diamond Notes: Week 1

Jack Clark C / RHP / Iowa City Regina, IA / 2024

The 2022 Future Game participant had a massive week at the plate, going 11-for-15 with four doubles and four runs batted in. He's also got a keen eye at the plate, drawing 14 walks so far this season, the second most in the state.

The St. Cloud State commit also went 1-0 on the mound in a spot start.

Tanner Anderson RHP / 3B / Western Dubuque, IA / 2025

Tanner was 6-for-13 with 7 RBIs last week and struck out 5 in 4 2/3 innings (ND) in a win against a good Pleasant Valley team.

Brett White 3B / OF / Solon High School, IA / 2024

In four games last week the Baylor commit had five extra bases, including two home runs, stole four bags, and drove in five.  

His 1.111 slugging percentage is currently fourth in Class 3A.

Solon sweeps Independence 3-2 and 14-6 behind complete games from Jackson Link and Kaden Hanson. Solon's Nolan Seagren w/ 3 hits in G1. Brett White has a double, 2 HRs, and 5 RBI in G2 to lead Sparty. Solon sits at 4-1 overall.

Gabe Ries / MASON CITY, IA / 2026

In 6 games this past week, Ries posted these numbers: 2 HR 2 2B 12 RBI 6 R .409 BA.

Reece Wrage RHP / 1B / North Polk, IA / 2024

Reece was 2-0 this week on the mound. 12 1/3 inn 1 earned run, 15k’s, two relief appearances and 6 2/3 of a combined no hitter vs Ankeny.

Also 7-for-14 at the plate this week with a double and home run.

William Pottebaum / BONDURENT FARRAR, IA / 2025

CG Win against Ballard on Monday (6 Ks, 2 BB, 1 ER), 4-8 7 RBIs throughout the week. 

Jacob Schoer RHP / OF / Wapsie Valley , IA / 2024

10 hits in 18 at bats, .556 avg

2 2B, 5 runs, 5 RBI, 2 BB, 3 SB

Ben Garvin CF / Wilton, IA / 2025

+ 1-0 on the mound 6 2/3 vs Durant 5 K and 1 BB , 2 runs, 9 hits 
+ 1 inning of relief 2 K
+ Hit 4-for-12 with 2 2B and 2 RBI, .333 average, .385 on base %

Tate Slagle SS / RHP / Algona High School, IA / 2025

Strong week for the no. 6 prospect in the class of 2025. At the plate he went 5-for-11, including two home runs and a triple.  3 RBI

He was a defensive monster as well. On the mound he threw 6 1/3 shutout innings with 15 strikeouts and just two hits against Webster City. Behind the dish, he picked off a runner at 2B and 1B, his 4th runners deleted this season.

Brandon Bea OF / RHP / Davenport North , IA / 2026

Brandon went 15-for-26 over the week with 5 doubles and 8 RBI in the leadoff spot.

His 20 total hits is tied for the state's lead and his 17 runs scored is tied for 5th most in the state. 

Carter Geffre C / 3B / Ames, IA / 2024

Hard not to like what the Iowa commit brings to the table. This past week he brought power and gas. 

He went 2-for-4 with a home runs and triple. He also threw a complete game one-hitter with 14 strikeouts against Ottumwa.
