TEAM MIDWEST QUICK HITS // POSITION PLAYERS

Bryce Pauly 3B / 2B / North High School, IA / 2026

Pauly’s stature and workout day performance caught the attention of Prep Baseball’s Shooter Hunt, who labeled him as “looking the part of a potential impact bat” as he dented baseballs in his round. That session culminated in a max exit velocity of 99.1 mph and a consistent 92.1 average exit velo.

The third baseman finished the week two-for-seven with a two-strike double and a single.

One trait that stood out about Pauly was his two-strike approach. Typically, a tall presence in the box, Pauly would spread out and shorten up without losing power (as evidenced by the double in the video above). There's a lot to like about Iowa's number three overall prospect.

Anthony Harrington 3B / RHP / Midland, IA / 2026

Turbo Strong was the descriptor used for Anthony Harrington’s workout day round, in which he reached a team-high exit velocity of 104.8 mph, the seventh highest at the event overall.

How can we define “turbo strong”? His bottom hand was a bone-crunching 178.7 pounds from his right hand. This is good because hitters whose dominant hand (i.e., the stronger one) is the bottom hand while swinging tend to correlate with higher bat speed versus those whose top hand is dominant. Harrington had a good combination of average bat speed (77.4 mph) and rotational acceleration (21.0). Also, the kid can jump through the roof: His Swift max vertical measured a whopping 35.8 inches, the 11th best in the showcase.

Harrington went two-for-seven on the series.

Tanner Evans SS / 2B / MILLARD NORTH HIGH SCHOOL, NE / 2026

Evans displays a somewhat unconventional stance in the box but delivers the barrel to and through the zone as well as anybody. During his workout day session, the infielder had an average rotational acceleration of 26.3 according to his Blast metrics (12th highest among Future Games participants), which suggests that Evans has the ability to allow the ball to travel deeper before starting his swing. Similarly, his On-Plane Efficiency was 92%, the third-highest among all participants.

Those tools were displayed during Team Midwest’s three-game set as Evans went two-for-five with a single and a hustle double while coaxing three walks.

Gavin De Jesus SS / OF / Waukee, IA / 2026

In the first game against Team Canada, De Jesus legged out two infield singles thanks to his 6.5 speed. The middle infielder missed out on the workout day portion of the event as his team was in the Iowa high school state tournament, so it is conceivable that the speedster could post a sixty time even lower than the time he recorded last March. De Jesus finished three-for-nine with three singles and a walk.

Cordell Clinkingbeard C / 2B / Papillion La Vista South, NE / 2026

Clinkingbeard was a metrics monster during the workout day. He posted a max exit velo of 103.4 mph, an average bat speed of 77.7 mph, threw 80 mph from behind the plate, and had an 82.2 Edge score. Clinkingbeard has the foundations to be an elite player somewhere, and it may just be on the mound where he dominated over two innings against Team Minnesota (more on that later).
