TY THOMSON | LHP | DMACC

The 6-foot-5, 210 pound left-hander has figuratively and literally grown by leaps and bounds since his graduation in 2023 from Council Bluffs Lewis Central. The recent Kansas commit was consistently in and around the zone with a 90-93 mph fastball while showing the ability to manipulate an above-average breaking ball for strikes. Overall, there is still room to add weight and strength, the arm action and frame are projectable, and Thomson has significant helium moving forward and will have interest from MLB organizations.

KONNER ENTZ | RHP | DMACC

Entz is a 2023 grad from West Fargo Sheyenne (ND) and was an above-average 2-way player in high school, ranked 60th in the combined Minnesota/Dakota rankings for his grad class. Entz has developed well physically while at junior college, creating a more muscular, durable build. The Fargo product showcased a max fastball velocity of up to 90 mph at Scout Day and separated himself with an above-average slider at 78-80 mph with the ability to miss bats.

JAKE ESPELAND | OF | DMACC

2024 grad from Des Moines Roosevelt High School. Espeland is an athletic 6-foot, 180-pound right-handed hitting outfielder that stands out because he has continued to develop and make strides with his tools and ability on the field. Espeland ran a 6.68 60-yard dash in a strong performance, threw 88 mph from the outfield, and consistently barreled baseballs during BP, producing a max exit velocity of 95.4 mph.

JORDAN LA TOUR | RHP | IOWA CENTRAL

La Tour was impressive at the Prep Baseball Iowa Juco Scout Day. The physical right-hander is imposing on the mound at 6-foot-3, 210 pounds. The 2023 grad from Shakopee (MN) showcased an impressive mix: a high spin max fastball at 93.5 mph (2654 RPM) with heavy late movement and spinning an 83-85 mph slider. The delivery to release is dynamic and violent at times, with significant effort, and has two currently above-average pitches. Add his sturdy frame and La Tour profiles as a legitimate higher bullpen option.

COOPER NICHOLSON | UTL | IOWA CENTRAL

A recent commit to North Carolina, Nicholson is coming off a monster freshman campaign as a leader offensively at Iowa Central and the ICCAC conference. The Dowling Catholic (IA) 2023 grad has continued to add quality strength to his stout 5-foot-11, 190-pound frame. A 6.81 runner at Scout Day in combination with an 86 mph arm across the infield. Nicholson projects as an offensive second baseman or possibly a third baseman with continued arm strength development. Overall, Nicholson is a high-end baseball player, and the bat is his carrying tool as a prospect. With continued high-end production, it holds significant value.

CADE SEARS | OF | IOWA CENTRAL

Initially committed to playing football at South Dakota State, Sears had a late change of heart and is now pursuing baseball at Iowa Central. The 2024 grad from Harlan (IA) is arguably the most dynamic “athlete” in the ICCAC this coming season. At Scout Day, he blazed a 6.16 60-yard dash time, showcased a firm 94 mph arm from the outfield, and had a max exit velocity of 94.2 mph from the left side of the plate. The multi-sport athlete in high school is raw in some aspects of the game yet has significant tools that can’t be ignored and will be a tantalizing prospect followed by MLB organizations this spring.

BOSTON DOESCHOT | OF/RHP | ELLSWORTH

In February of 2022, Doeschot at the Preseason ID-South Dakota event ran a 7.48, had a max exit velocity of 77 mph, and was 6-foot-2, 185 pounds. Fast forward to now, the 2023 grad from Kingsley-Pierson has matured into a 6-foot-3, 210-pound physical frame, and the tools have made a considerable jump. At the JUCO Scout Day, Doeschot ran a 7.05, was 91 mph of the outfield, showcased an advanced round of BP with a max exit velo of 98.7, and on the mound showed a live arm up to 91.8 mph. The bat and the projectability on the mound are intriguing as he continues to progress through the winter and into spring.

BROCK ADAMSON | LHP | ELLSWORTH

Adamson possesses a strong, durable build at 6-foot-3, 215 pounds. The Ankeny 2023 grad continues to have a starter-type arsenal on the mound. Strike thrower with three pitches consistently in and around the zone. Adamson was up to 92 mph at the Ellsworth Scout Day with a max spin rate of 2386. Physical, left-handed, feel for the zone, with some funk and deception to disrupt timing and uncomfortable look from hitters. Adamson will be an arm Ellsworth and future schools can lean on for productive, dependable innings on the mound.

NOAH SCOTT | RHP | IOWA WESTERN

Prep Baseball Colorado saw good things in the recent Oregon State commit way back in February 2021: “Thin frame with a lot of potential. Still developing growth and refining mechanics. Fastball topped out at 87 mph from a high 3/4 release. High ceiling for this developing athlete out of Broomfield HS.” And now the Colorado product is beginning to reach his potential. Scott has blossomed into a 6-4, 210-pound weapon for the Reivers. The delivery is controlled with easy effort, producing a max fastball of 96.5 mph, paired with a slider up to 79.6 and a sinking changeup at 83.4.

BRODY LEYBOLDT | OF/LHP | IOWA WESTERN

Physically and athletically, he is a different player from his high school days in Nebraska at Omaha Northwest.  His movements are smoother and more efficient, and by the numbers, it is a night and day difference. Leyboldt has dropped his 60 from 7.24 to 6.65 and added 8+ mph in max exit velo to 93.4 while increasing OF velo to 91 from 82 in high school.  On the mound, it is a very similar tune. Physical development and refined motion have unlocked real two-way talent. His fastball is up to 90.8 (10 mph from high school) with a high release point from the left side that tunnels his 73.2 curveball well. He shows a real ability to kill spin with his changeup, 1276 average rpm, which is deceptive and late with its movement averaging 77.7 mph.
