Hilo Preseason ID: Quick Hits
January 10, 2024
On Saturday, January 6th, the PBR Hawaii staff hosted it's first event of the year with the Hilo Preseason ID. This event featured a ton of uncommitted talent among the 43 players in attendance, including several unsigned seniors who should be on the radar of college coaches as the 2024 class continues roll off the board.
Like all of our events, players participated in a pro-style workout in front of our staff and collected unrivaled data in the process through our top-of-the-line tech partners. These events also serve as identifiers for future invite-only events, like the Hawaii State Games, Future Games, Jr. Future Games, West Coast Games, West Coast Pro Case and more.

Now, at the event’s conclusion, our staff has combed through our notes from the day and put together these ‘Quick Hits’. Below you will learn more about a handful of names that stood out from the Hilo Preseason ID.
HILO PRESEASON ID - QUICK HITS
+ Brock Ayudan, 2028 SS - Ayudan was of my favorite 2028’s this past weekend in Hawaii. Love the loose, handsy swing and there's +upside. Definite Top 10 in Hawaii's 2028 Class.
___________________________________________________________
+ Noah Palea, 2025 RHP/OF - Tall, lean and very projectable frame. Like the swing and there's some bat speed in there. Took it easy with outfield throws as arm was tender, but could end up with +arm and better as a right-handed pitcher. Potential two-way DI recruit.

+ Legend Lancaster, 2024 3B/RHP - Arm was fresh, was up to 88mph from shortstop. Drove balls in BP deep to all fields with a peak exit velocity of 95.7mph. Future +raw/+arm combo.

+ Kameron Lee, 2024 RHP - Love the delivery, arm action and ease. He's going to thrown hard one day and the secondary stuff continues to improve. Pounded zone with mix and shows ++upside. On MLB scout radar, as well.

+ Hurley Soong, 2026 SS - +Athlete and switch-hitting shortstop who can do a little bit of everything. Love the feel and makeup. Solid DI recruit with arrow going up!

+ Jerrell Alston, 2026 OF/RHP - Impressive showing from Alston on Saturday. Quality BP with quick bat, peak exit velocity of 88.6mph, who’s going to end up with power. 80mph from OF and run/speedd to give him a chance to stay in CF. Has a chance to break into Top 10 of Hawaii's 2026 Class.
