Team Georgia started off the Futures Games against Team Michigan in the 8 A.M slot. Chase Alonso got the ball for Georgia and did not disappoint. In the first, Alonso worked efficiently, racking up two strikeouts and stranding one runner. In the bottom of the first, Will Dudley drew a walk for Team GA but was left on base. Alonso came back out for another inning of work and left off right, where he was racking up two more strikeouts and leaving two runners on base via a walk and a single. Alonso consistently worked 84-87 with the fastball with tons of life and run and complimented it with a mid 70s slider that was very advanced. He totaled seven swings and misses, and all of his four strikeouts were swinging.

In the bottom of the second, Andrew Akopov drew a walk, but that was it for Team GA in the second.

Wesley Thirly was handed the ball for the third inning for his Georgia squad. Thirly consistently lived 82-84 with a funky ¾ arm slot and tons of run on the fastball. Slider was 70-72 with some slurvy shape to it and also flashed a changeup at 78.

Thirly recorded his first out of the inning courtesy of a strikeout looking. After a few tough at bats from Michigan, Thirly quickly saw himself in a bases loaded one out jam. Thanks to his defense, he beared down to get himself a big groundball, resulting in a big inning ending double play (4-6-3) to throw up a zero. In the bottom of the third, Team GA entered the hit column with a Tripp Swords single (88 EV) through the six hole and shortly after got himself a stolen base.

Asher Allen drew himself a two out walk, but Team GA’s two out rally fell just short. Thirty went back out in the top of the fourth, and after a few long at bats from Team Michigan, Whirly was relieved by teammate Trent Harrison. Harrison came in filling it up, living 75-77 with the fastball and having a curveball in the upper 60s to go along with it. Michigan found a few holes to plate a few but Harrison stayed composed and got out of it. Georgia finally got things going in the bottom of the fourth with back-to back-to-back walks from Banks Holcomb, Trent Harrison, and Jackson Nelson, Georgia finally put some pressure on Michigan. After a throwing error from the catcher, Team GA found themselves in the scoring column, but that was it for the inning.

In the top of the fifth, Harrison went back out there for another inning of work and continued to induce weak contact, but unfortunately some found holes. Harrison continued to battle through some uncontrollable situations and made some big pitches to stop the bleeding for Georgia. In the bottom of the fifth, Team Georgia’s bats came to life, starting with a leadoff double from Will Dudley in the right center gap sent three hundred fifty plus feet. Shorty after that, Jackson Bredeson smoked one up the middle, leading to Dudley scoring. Chase Bredickas was up next and smoked one over the second baseman's head for a single to make it back-to-back-to-back hits for Georgia.

Just two batters later, Andrew Akopov finds himself on base again, this time sending a hard grounder up the middle (88 EV) to bring home Bredeson.

With two outs, Kingston Jones came up with their last hopes and delivered a knock to shallow center to score Bredickas. After a late push for Team Georgia, it was not enough as they lost to a tough Michigan team with a final score of 11-4. Their next game will take place on Friday, July 26 at 5 P.M versus Alabama #2 on field 13.
