Summer Uncommitted Spotlight: Jackson Freeman

Uncommitted. Physicality and strength at a premuim from Jackson Freeman this summer. He continued to showcase the hit tools throughout his time at Prep Baseball events. Blistered baseballs all over the field with an advanced approach and a disciplined eye at the plate, and accuracy with the barrel. Hit numerous balls with triple digit exit velocities, and displayed versatility in the upper-half of a stacked Devine Baseball 17u line-up. At the Top Prospect Games in June, a very advanced and developed physique seperated him from other players. He maintains power and explosiveness within his 6-foot-3, 220-pound frame. Flashed one of the loudest rounds of batting practice at the showcase where he began his tear on the summer. A few weeks later at the17u National Championship, he picked up right where he left off, showing no mercy on baseballs left out over the zone, and ripped several hard hit singles into left and center field. Defensively, he showed a strong arm behind the dish and across the infield. He caught a couple of runners trying to advance, showing off quick footwork and a smooth transfer for in-game sub-2.0 second pop times. An impressive athlete with obvious strength and power, continues to display (+) tools at a high level.

Uncommitted. Easy, raw power from the 6-foot-3, 220-pound frame. Aggressive at the plate matches with a dog mentality that continues to impress. Moderately wide stance, stays low and balanced, loose hands coiled up lower/back of stance. Generates leverage and tons of upper body torque that produce consistent hard contact. Smoked two at 101 mph, and 96 mph off the bat (7/19). All around strength with good pitch recognition and an aggressive yet controlled swing. High follow.
