Summer Uncommitted Spotlight: Charles Chappelle

Uncommitted. A high riser in the 2026 class rankings as Chappelle flashed tools from both side of the ball. Summer stats include a .462 batting average with 30 base hits, 8 XBH and 2 home-runs, as well as a .525 OBP. Created a dependable persona in the top-4 spot in the lineup with the ability to hit the ball to all fields with power and generate back-spin. A mature bat that racked up 23 RBI's and scored 18 runs for a stacked 16u Georgia Jackets squad. Made a great impression every time we saw him. At Top Prospect Games, he showed off the bat speed with a long home-run that hit the scoreboard off one of the top arms in the '26 class. One of the most consistent players w/ RISP and a hard contact hitter with the ability to battle with two-strikes and also attacks early in the count. Swing flashes whip and an advanced feel for the barrel. A high follow as he looks to continue his success in the spring.
Scouting Report
Uncommitted. Strong 5-foot-11, 175-pound frame with an excellent display of an inside-to-out approach. Shows maturity at the dish with an advanced approach that flashes quiet, yet controlled aggression. Drives the ball hard, generates pop to all parts of the field with ease. High IQ with a disciplined eye and shines early in the count, very inviting to the inside fastball. Quick hands and strong wrists that show some whip in the barrel. Looking forward to watching this young start develop the rest of the summer. High follow.
Uncommitted. Chappelle is the definition of a gamer. He hit the ball hard all around the yard all weekend. He has a very strong lower half with immense bat speed. Has a lot of pull side pop from the right side, loves to let the ball get deep and drive it to the outfield.

Hit: RHH. Tall, neutral setup. Hands in front of the body. Big coil with the hands and body around the back hip. Whippy barrel with an uphill path. Loft to the pullside. 70.5 mph bat speed with 15 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 96 max exit velocity, averaged 84.9 mph. 345' max distance.
Arm: RH. OF-85 mph. Whippy arm action, 3/4 slot
Defense: Presents glove early, smooth transfer, quick feet
ATH: 6.97 runner in the 60. 1.69 and 3.90 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. 24.70 max vertical.
It was our first look at Dalton this spring, and came away really impressed with the sophomore center fielder. Chappelle stands a compact, physical 5-foot-11, 175-pounds with present strength throughout the frame. Staying simple at the plate, Chappelle transfers weight well with great rhythm to his swing that creates excellent leverage through the zone. Caught one of the loudest barrels of the day, putting a ball off the scoreboard in LCF for a no-doubter. Present arm strength in the outfield with present range and foot speed to stick in CF. Will be an interesting follow as he develops.
