Summer Uncommitted Spotlight: Brayden Seabold

Prep Baseball Georgia
Staff

Uncommitted. An impressive righty with a quality three pitch mix and has shown potential for a four pitch mix. He has been a pure workhorse throughout the summer throwing on short rest, and having effective pitches with life and flashing the ability to go the distance and throw six or more innings. Confident, poised 6-foot-1, 170-pound frame with quick arm motion that generates tons of movement and collects weak contact. The FB runs up to 91 and sits consistently around 90-88 that generates 17.7 inches of movement with heavy arm side run; tail. Has a good feel for spin and the CV confuses hitters, coming in on righties and jams guys for weak contact and also collects tons of stares for called strikes, whiffs and half-swings. Sits around 79-77 and runs the spin rate up to 2661, has flirted with in-game 2800-2900 rpm; tight, 12-6 break. Mixes in a CH that sits in the low 80's with constant break, 10.2 average IVB and spin rate dies off at 1450 rpm; shows depth and late die-off. He shows command on all three of his pitches and does mix in a SL periodically. Demands greatness from himself and is the defintion of a true competitor. We got to see Seabold a handful of times this summer at our invite only Top Prospect Games showcase, as well as five other Prep Baseball tournaments where he dominated on the mound, and continued to impress and show advancements in his development amongst the other players in his class.

3/25/24

Uncommitted. 6-foot-1 165-pounds.Seabold has been a name we have been eager to see since the Preseason. We saw him at Preseason All-State, and had really made some big strides on the mound. The fastball velocity was up, and everything looked much smoother coming down the mound. He had a small injury that set him back early in the year, but looked to be in mid season form on Monday night in a big region match up. He commanded the zone with the fastball in the mid 80’s, he worked up to 87, and only had 1 walk across 5 innings. He struck out 7, showing a great feel for the curveball in the low 70’s, flipping it over for strikes when needed. Seabold has a ton of potential with a naturally strong arm that will allow him to develop and get into the upper 80’s and low 90’s very soon.
