Scouting Staff

The Prep Baseball Showdown at LakePoint marked out 2nd tournament of the summer. Our scouting staff was out in full force covering games all week long at the park. We have quick hit style notes from each day with video of prospect we day. Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3. Now lets take a deeper look at some prospects that our scouts saw with full breakdowns of the players they saw.

Braxton Bjur, LHP, Verrado (AZ), 2025
Uncommitted. 6’3” 170lb lanky frame with lots of room to fill out. Well-sequenced movements down the mound. Lower ¾ arm slot. Threw a complete game in his start this weekend, manuevering through the lineup with ease. The fastball opened up at 83-84 before settling in at 81-83. Topped out at 85. Throws a big slider at 66-68 with tons of sweep. Gradual break on it with good feel to land it for strikes. Threw the changeup at 73-74 with good fading life. Good follow.

Ari Bethea, RHP, Collierville (TN), 2025
Tennessee commit. 6’1” 197lb solid, sturdy frame. Fairly over the top arm slot. Showed the athleticism on the mound. Bethea came out firing in his start this weekend and competed throughout the night, relying heavily on a two-pitch mix. The fastball sat 86-88 and topped at 89. Created good carry to the top of the zone and induced a lot of swings underneath. The slider sat 77-79 (~2400 rpm). Produced sharp two-plane break and showed good feel to manipulate the shape in different counts. Showed good feel and control of the game on the mound and advanced pitchability.

Jacob Murray, SS/RHP, Cabot (AR), 2026
Uncommitted. 6’1” 185lb frame with a strong build. High ¾ arm slot. Showed some really athletic movements down the mound in his outing with an explosive arsenal. Murray opened up with the fastball in the 87-88 range, topping out at 89. Settled in at 85-87. Showed some big carry through the zone. He flashed two distinct breaking balls. The slider worked 75-76 with tight, late bite. Cutter type profile on the pitch. The curveball worked 71-73 with big, slurvy break. Overall command looked solid throughout the outing. Murray, the #13 ranked player in the state of Arkansas, oozes projection and is a high follow for the summer.

Braden McCrary, RHP, Hueytown (AL), 2025
Uncommitted. 6’2” 160lb lanky frame with lots of room to fill out still. Throws from a high ¾ slot with a live arm. In his start, he opened up 83-85 with the fastball, topping out at 87. Fastball has cut/ride shape, and he spun it at ~2400rpm throughout with sharp, late break to the gloveside at times. McCrary threw the slider at 71-74 with spin rates consistently at or above 2700rpm. Prior to a rain delay, he showed decent command with the arsenal. All in all, it’s an intriguing arsenal and a frame that still has a lot of projection left. Good follow.

Cameron Cochran, 1B/OF, Cartersville (GA), 2025
Uncommitted. 6’0” 225lb large, strong frame. Had a good showing this weekend at the plate. Starts in a fairly neutral position. Does a good job of getting into his strong lower half in the load. It’s a simple and small leg lift as the timing mechanism. Cochran has a whippy barrel which plays well with the strength he has at present. There is certainly a good bit of power projection present here. Needs to cut down on the chase, as he swung at a decent number of pitches out of the zone, but that should come in time.

Neil Stam, RHP, Creekview (GA), 2025
Uncommitted. 6’1” 160lb frame with some strength present, but certainly some room to add. Simple, quiet, and repeatable delivery with a live arm. Stam had a solid start this weekend. He threw the fastball in the 86-88 range, topping at 89.4. High spin at ~2300rpm, with good ride and run to it. Jumped on hitters, causing some uncomfortable swings. He threw the slider anywhere from 70-75, showing good feel to manipulate shape dependant on the count and situation. Solid profile at present with some projection left.

Zack Morrison, OF/IF, Baylor School (TN), 2026
Uncommitted. Excellent day at the plate for Morrison on Friday morning. Showcased his ability to hit the off-speed and FB off a good lefty arm. Had the only two hits for the Blue Sox until the fifth inning. Ended the day going 3-for-3 with 3-RBI’s, 2 singles, and a double. Inside-to-out swing on balls he hit up the middle, and quick hands and bat speed to lay the barrel down on pitches middle-in. Impressed with mid-pitch adjustments, and ability to recognize off-speed when he saw them. Good follow for the summer.

Nolan Elrod, LHP/1B, Cartersville HS, 2026
Uncommitted. Solid outing Saturday morning from Elrod. Good stuff working early, really settled in around the 3rd inning. Deceptive combinations kept hitters out-front nearly the entire game. Lots of ground-ball outs. FB(T82, 81-78) lived on the outer-half the entire game, working well for ground-ball outs when he needed them. CH(74-70) productive pitch that tailed up and away as well as down in the zone. SL(69-67) was extremely effective with good command for a back-door pitch for called strikes. Collected almost 15 whiffs in 5.0IP, 7K’s, 3 ER, 1 BB.

Will Schmidt, RHP, River Ridge HS, 2025
Uncommitted. Saturday morning spotlight for the rising senior, Schmidt had all three pitches working and was dealing. Had complete command of all three pitches, hit his spots, and gave up 2 hits through the first 5 innings of work. FB (T83, 81-79) ASR had good command, and worked well with 4sm for whiffs and 2sm caught batters behind and created pop-outs in the infield. Out of the 3 hits he gave up, only one was over 67 mph exit velocity. SL(69-68) had a good feel for spin and cut away from RHH. CH(76-74) had an extremely good run low and into RHH, good control, and deceptiveness to keep hitters at bay. Quality combinations kept hitters lunging, and off-balance. Final stat line: 6.0 IP / 3 Hits / 1 BB / 1 ER / 4K’s on 91 pitches

Graydon Sellers, 3B/SS, North Gwinnett HS, 2027
Uncommitted. Sellers showed excellent hands on Sunday morning at the hot corner. Two fore-handed pick plays that he made look easy were perfectly executed to save a run on one, and to end the inning on the other. Decent day at the plate as well, went 1-for-3 but battled on all AB’s. Executed a perfect hit-and-run to set up RISP for his team. Showed maturity at the plate and a disciplined eye, only swung at good pitches and wasted a few to keep in the box with two strikes. Barreled one through the 3-4 hole with the infield at double-play depth. Just hit the ball where it was, and went to the opposite field with it. Solid, simple, and compact swing, short to the ball, and maintains balance in and throughout. Advanced feel for the barrel, high follow for the summer.

Ethan Buffone, SS, Houston County HS, 2025
Mercer commit. The 2024 6A All-Region SS was on full display this weekend. Buffone showed maturity at the plate with confidence, and demanded good pitches with a disciplined eye. Buffone hit two balls off the wall in left-center field on Sunday afternoons game, both burned the left-fielder with a 93+ exit velocity on both knocks. A tall, lean, strong frame helps with his easy power to all fields, hard contact, and has an accurate feel for the barrel. Proves himself to be a vocal leader in the dugout and on the field. Already ranked number 10 at SS in the state of Georgia for his class. Had a tremendous spring for Houston County, and is no-doubt going to improve throughout the summer.

Brelynd Beasley, 1B/3B, Jasper County HS, 2027
Uncommitted. Beasley is a big, physical right handed bat at 6’0” 210 lbs. He used that frame to produce consistently high exit velocities all weekend at the plate. Regardless of size, Beasley has a very smooth and almost effortless looking swing, with a bat that gets in the zone early and stays on plane all the way through. Not only excited to see Beasley continue to grow in strength, but also to see him grow as a player and better his hit tool over the next few years. Definitely a young upcoming sophomore worth following.

Drew Harmon, 1B, Sequoyah, 2026
Uncommitted. Harmon showed a great ability to drive the ball to both gaps this weekend for the Georgia Jackets. In the semi final game, Harmon started off hot with a line drive that easily burned the left fielder at 94.8 exit velocity. He then followed that up with a backside shot into the RCF gap on a 2 strike changeup, showing his willingness and ability to go to the opposite field. While 6’2” 185 lbs is no small frame, Harmon still has so room to fill out and get stronger, adding even more power to his already impressive hit tool.

Tanner Carson, 3B, Carroll Senior HS (TX), 2025
Uncommitted. Carson hits in the middle of the order for a loaded Arkansas Sticks lineup, and he does much more than hold his own. At 6’4” 220 lbs, Carson is a huge physical presence in the box with the power to back it up. He helped the Sticks to a big win in the championship game by hitting a grand slam at 96 exit velocity. His advanced feel for the zone and immense power will make him a force at any level, and he should continue to dominate for the remainder of the summer. High follow.

Steven Tavares, 1B, Jefferson HS, 2025
Uncommitted. Tavares showed out with the bat on Sunday afternoon. He started his day with a deep sac fly to CF that was clocked in at 97 exit velocity. He then ambushed a first pitch breaking ball in his next AB for a 2B down the left field line that was tracked at 99 exit velocity. Tavares produced consistent high exit velocities like this all weekend, and he should continue to do so with his 6’2” 210 lb frame. Even with his size, Tavares has the ability to stay connected and keep his head still for a controlled, but violent swing.

Mills Lothridge, OF/RHP, North Hall HS, 2025
Uncommitted. Lothridge showed out on the mound and at the plate for AquaSox 17u Blue this weekend. Worked his FB consistently in the low 80’s, working it up to 83. He pounded the zone and challenged hitters with both pitches, showing his ability to get quick outs and work efficiently. He also was solid at the plate where he consistently hit the ball hard, along with flashing some athleticism on defense. Lothridge does not lack in any department on the field, all around good player.

Hayden Holleman, 1B/RHP, Friendship Christian School (TN), 2025
Uncommitted. Holleman is a big physical presence in the box standing at 6’2 205. Strong lower half with great barrel control through the zone. Does a great job recognizing breaking balls and keeping his weight back. He consistently sprayed the ball around the yard all tournament.

Domenic Pecoraro, OF/RHP, William T. Dwyer (FL), 2026
Uncommitted. Pecoraro had loud contact all weekend long. In his first at bat he smoked one down the left field line for a stand up double with 92.6 exit velocity. He has a large load with a very strong lower half. Hands are quick to the ball with great barrel control through the zone. Gets out of the box quick and can motor around the bases.

Tanner Bayne, C, Silverdale Baptist (TN), 2026
Uncommitted. Bayne has a big frame at 6’2 195 with a lot of pop the other way. Stays very consistent in his approach at the plate. Has great pitch recognition with immense bat speed that allows him to hit the ball where it’s pitched. Also a workhorse behind the plate.

Maddox Frazier, RHP/3B, Cartersville (GA), 2025
Uncommitted. Frazier has very smooth and sound mechanics with a solid built frame at 6’2 205. His fastball is sharp and jumps out of his hand with good command. Fastball also paired very well with his curveball. Does a great job understanding counts and working ahead. Also very solid at the plate. Great follow in the 2025 class.

Davis McMillian, 2B/RHP, North Gwinnett (GA), 2027
Uncommitted. McMillan has a very powerful swing that generates most of the power from his strong lower half and high leg kick. Very consistent in his approach, likes to push the ball the other way often. Could be a good follow in the 2027 class as he continues to develop and get stronger.

Jack Reynolds, OF/LHP, Allatoona (GA), 2025
Uncommitted. Very smooth lefty swing that generates a lot of pull side pop. Does a great job getting the bat head to the ball and keeping his hands through the zone. Very whippy bat and stays consistent in his approach.

Ty Holt, C/2B, Greenwood (AR), 2027
Uncommitted. Holt has good power off the bat showing it off on Monday with a 2 RBI triple 91 EV. Holt has a good frame at 5’11 161 and decent speed. Strong lower body and quick hands to show off the power all weekend long.

Davis Kelley, OF/RHP, Helena (AL) 2026
Uncommitted. Strong fame at 6’1 175 and good power off the bat. Showed the power off on saturday with a barrel to center field to bring in two runs 87 EV. Strong lower body with quick hand speed to help get that ball far. Great swing to add on to that power could be nasty for the future.

Kwade Carver, RHP/3B, Powell High School (TN) 2025
Uncommitted. Big frame 6’3 207 with great power. Nice barrel on saturday for a double to right field for a double 87 EV. Smooth swing and strong lower body to get that ball far. Does a great job with carrying his swing through the ball to get that good connection on the ball.

Ashton Abbas, 2B/SS, Cambridge High School (GA), 2025
Uncommitted. On Saturday Abbas hit an inside the park home. Good barrel of the ball to go all the way to the back wall in center field. Good swing and strong lower body to get that ball far with great speed around the bases.

David Ojeda, OF/RHP, Flowery Branch High (GA), 2026
Uncommitted, Ojeda had a great weekend with multiple hard hit balls. Physical frame at 5’1 183 and great power off the bat. Smooth swing and good at following through his swing with quick hand speed. Strong lower body and quick out the box and around the bases. Someone to definitely follow this summer.

Angelo Santiago, 3B/SS, Auburn HS (AL), 2026
Uncommited. What a first showing for Santiago on the first day of Showdown at Lakepoint. In his first at-bat Santiago showed off the strength by taking a 3-2 slider and depositing it over the left-field wall with an exit velocity at 94. Santiago did not stop there; he continued to obliterate balls during the game. Following up the home run, in his second at-bat he hit a backside single for an RBI at an exit velocity of 98. In his third at bat hit a ball right at the shortstop at an exit velocity of 96. The strength is real for Santiago. There is limitless power potential in Santiago’s profile, as the rising junior will be a hot commodity come August 1st.

Chase Anarumo, RHP/1B, Holy Innocent’s Episcopal School, NW (HS) GA, 2026
Uncommitted. What an outing in relief from Anarumo on the first night of Showdown at Lakepoint. The righty came in out of the pen and dominated sitting batters down left and right. Anarumo had the fastball and curveball combination working all night. With the fastball sitting 80-84 topping at 85 with heavy arm-side-run. Adding in the curve at 66-69 with tight late break, with horizontal movement and the ability to add and subtract sweep. Finishing with a final line of 4.2 innings pitched with 8 k’s to 1 walk, with no hits. The right handed pitcher will be an intriguing name to watch over the summer.

Will Forte, 3B/C, The Lovett School (HS) GA, 2026
Uncommitted. With a strong physical frame at 6-foot-3, 193-pounds, using a strong lower half and electric bat speed. The catcher obliterates balls at ease. In a crucial game collected a knock up the middle at an exit velocity of 95. On the defensive side Forte, a vocal leader, was a standout behind the dish all week. Showcasing the grittiness behind the plate blocking balls at ease. Also showing off the arm cutting down multiple runners on the base paths. Forte was a force on both sides of the ball over the weekend.

Jacob Mayfield, OF/SS, Dacula (HS) GA, 2026
Uncommitted. Mayfield was one of the biggest standouts over the course of Showdown at Lakepoint. Consistently barreling balls over 90+ exit velocity. Arguably Mayfield's biggest day he came up to the plate and scorched one perfectly into the right center field gap at an exit velocity of 95 and came all the way around for an inside-the-park home-run. Showcasing the perfect blend of power and speed. In his next at-bat Mayfield followed up the homerun with a ringing pull-side double at an exit velocity of 91. There is immense power potential in Mayfield frame at 6-foot-6, 200-pounds. Mayfield showcased the tools over the course of the week.

Sullivan Smith, OF/2B, William T Dwyer (HS) (FL), 2026
Uncommitted. Smith is as pesky as they come at the plate. Fresh off batting .300 for a Dwyer HS squad that won the 6A state championship in Florida. The rising junior started the summer of hot. Collecting two hits in the championship game of the Showdown at Lakepoint. The lead-off hitter produced quality at-bats throughout the championship game. Showcasing impressive bat-to-ball with lightning quick bat speed. The uncommitted OF will be an interesting name to watch over the summer.

Ellis Alldredge, OF/RHP, North Forsyth (HS) GA, 2026
Uncommitted. Alldredge had a standout championship performance to secure the win for his squad. Coming out of the pen firing on all cylinders, Alldredge sat 87-89 on the fastball and ran it up to 90 with heavy arm-side run. Mixing in the curveball at 75-77 with a tight late break. Also sprinkling in the change-up that dropped off the table. Alldredge came up down one with two on and with the game on the line and delivered, sending a ball deep into the right center gap plating two to push across the go-ahead run which would end up being the winning run. There is limitless two-way potential in Alldredge’s profile.

Taylor Fuller, MIF, Holy Innocent’s Episcopal School (HS) GA, 2026
Uncommitted. Fuller is a LHH MIF that brings many tools to the table. His swing is very loose and athletic allowing him to really hit any pitch that is given to any part of the field. Taylor smoked one up the middle and also went backside with 2ks. He also has a very nice glove to compliment him up the middle. Very nice hands with great range were showed this weekend for Fuller and has the arm to go with it. On the other hand Fuller is a true issue on the base paths. It felt like everytime he got on a base a base was being stolen and was never even close to being thrown out. Fuller has all the things he needs to be successful and should be a name to follow for years to come.

E’Mar Fleming, 1B, Jesuit College Preparatory HS (TX), 2025
Uncommitted. E’Mar has a solid build at 6’0 175 and will continue to add weight. Fleming was impressive all weekend from the left side absolutely crushing balls. The power tool is there as Fleming had 2 homeruns on the weekend. Also Fleming had a double at 100+ EV. Fleming does not short himself with his swings but has a good eye at the dish as well drawing 4 walks on the weekend. Definitely a great LHH 1B that coaches should get on quick but also can play OF too showing his versatility.

Will Leslie , 2025 , RHP, Cabot (AR)
Arkansas State commit came out and dominated today, carrying a no hitter into the 4th walking only one. Fastball came out electric throwing a pure Two-Seam. 2S got up two 88 and consistently lived in the 85-87 range with good movement, (12IVB, 18HVB) creating some wicked ASR. Plenty of room to add on to the frame that will come naturally with getting older.

Samuel Reardon, 2025, 3B, North Gwinnett
Reardon really impressed at the plate this weekend. The game I watched Reardone went ⅔ with a impressive backside 2B, and a loud homerun. Good frame that will fill out nicely. Reardon is a name we will get to watch a ton this summer and coming spring. Excited to see what happens with him in the future.

Trey Luke, 2026, OF/LHP, Rockmart
Trey Luke continues to climb for us, has shown a serious hit tool being leadoff for TL10 16u, and leads off a lot of games with 90+EV hits. He matches this power with good speed on the bases but overall shows a good hitability. Luke matches the hitting with a good pitching tool running his FB up 87. Luke is a serious two way talent this summer and I would not be surprised if he continued to climb.
