Prep Baseball Georgia

Marietta, GA: On Thursday, the Prep Baseball Staff made their way to Mount Paran Christian to host the Georgia Knights Scout Day. A great opportunity for players from the 2025-2028 classes to get some new metrics and numbers as we end the fall season as well as helping out staff identify who we need to come see this upcoming spring.

Today, we look at some of the players who made instant impacts on Thursday night.

You can find articles with full stats and data dives from the event later next week.

Owen Dichiara, OF/RHP, 2026, Cornerstone Prep
Athletic 6-foot-0, 155-pound frame with some present physicality and projection remaining. Dichiara took some of the best swings we saw all evening. Hands explode through the zone with a quick-twitch trigger. Shows ability to stay on-plane well and allows the outfielder to get the barrel out front to find easy carry to the pull-side. Flashed real tools in the outfield with above-average arm strength, grabbing an event-best 90 with accuracy and advanced footwork as well. 7.1 runner, who was also up to 84 on the mound, while mixing in a changeup and curveball as well for strikes. A great all-around showing for the uncommitted junior.

Ethan Slaughter, SS/2B, 2028, Hillgrove
The freshman took one of the last defensive rounds of the night and really looked the part of a long-term middle infielder. Slaughter moves laterally with ease, showing quality footwork and soft hands that work in sync with his lower half. Accurate across the diamond while working east to west with arm strength to come as he develops into his lean 5-foot-8 frame.

Beau Butler, SS, 2026, North Paulding
Tapered frame at 5-foot-8, 145-pounds that shows the ability to put on considerable muscle as he matures. At the plate, Butler does a good job keeping his hands inside with some whip in the barrel. Line-drive bat path with some ability to manipulate the barrel to get on-plane in zone. Gap-to-gap approach. Smooth actions in the dirt, flashing impressive hands throughout the round with lightning quick transfers and making some great picks at second base.

Preston Lynch, OF/RHP, 2028, Harrison
Already physical with more projection to come at 6-foot-0, 155-pounds. Lynch will be a good follow as he heads into his freshman years. He posted a pulldown of 78 from the OF with accurate throws. He had a good showing on the mound running the fastball up to 77, throwing strikes. As he develops, more velocity will come.

Cooper Adams, OF, 2026, Cartersville
Athletic, 6-foot1 frame. Adams posted the top 60-yard dash time of the evening with a 6.86. The athleticism showed throughout the event. He had a strong round of batting practice with a max distance of 320ft and exit velocity of 90.4. He pulled down 78mph from the outfield with accurate throws and easy 1 hops for the catcher. Adams has been a steady performer in tournaments this fall, and carried that into the event on Thursday night.

Ben Barr, C, 2026, North Cobb
Stout, 5-foot-11 190-pound frame. Barr has shown well throughout the fall at LakePoint Sports in a game setting, so we were excited to see him at an event. He posted the event's best pop time of 2.15-2.25. He pulled down 84 from the outfield and 73 from behind the plate. He has smooth and efficient actions, and popped out of the crouch really well. At the plate he has a line drive approach. He produces a lot of his power from his strong hands, and quick bat speed. He keeps the barrel through the zone allowing for consistent contact through the middle of the field. He posted the top exit velocity of the day at 96.5mph.

Brandon Ivey, SS, 2026, Praise Academy
Lean, 6-foot-2 frame. Ivey showcases well throughout the evening. Started the night off with a solid round of batting practice, staying through the middle of the field with hard line drives. He led the way in max batted distance as well as average batted distance with a max of 329ft and average of 213ft. The hands stay quiet with a smooth loud that kept him on time consistently. On the mound he worked up to 78 with clean and efficient actions. There will be more velocity to come from Ivey, and will be a good one to follow the next couple of years.

Easton Day, RHP, 2026, North Paulding
Strong 6-foot frame. Day had a strong and consistent bullpen, mixing 3 pitches for strikes. He ran the fastball up to 81, and did a really good job with deception, and throwing pitches out of the same tunnel. He had strong spin metrics on all pitches, and did a good job of staying through the ball on his fastball. He showed a really clean front side with a strong longer half that he stayed through down the mound really well.
