EMERSON, GA - The Georgia Senior Games were held on Saturday August 31st at Lakepoint Sports Complex. This event was an invite only event that consisted of prospects from the 2025 class across various parts of Georgia These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw in a bullpen setting and were able to get numbers and metrics via TrackMan. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing at the event.

Kicking off our post-event coverage for this event, we take a look at some of the standouts from the Georgia Senior Games. Below, you can find scout notes and video on some of the standouts from the event.

The delivery is clean and efficient with repeatable mechanics that keep him on time at foot plant consistently. The fastball up to 86 with late life through the zone that produced heavy swing and miss. He went to the curveball in any count, and especially to get ahead. It was 72-74 with good spin and late bite. Clower will be an uncommitted to really follow this fall and into his senior year with the potential to be a 90 arm in the near future.

Sage Newsome LHP / LHP / Johnson County, GA / 2025

Uncommitted. 5-foot-10 159-pounds. This was our second look at Newsome after he shined at the Central Georgia ID over the summer as the top arm of the event. That event was after a long spring where he was Johnson County’s number one arm. After some time to rest up he came out with improvements on his fastball up to 86. He can throw 3 pitches for strikes with pitch ability. He gets a ton of swing and miss with the fastball due to the late arm side run. He attacked hitters early in the county forcing weak contact. Newsome is a striking throwing arm that has the potential to be a starter at the next level.

Disciplined swing that exudes confidence and loads or power in the barrel.
