Uncommitted Spotlight: RHP Will Dean
April 1, 2020
Our goal at Prep Baseball Report is to promote high school players, and give them the exposure they need to be able to play at the next level. With the 2020 high school season in limbo, we want to continue to be able to promote players, even when baseball is not being played. Starting today, we will be spotlighting several uncommitted prospects to help them get the exposure they need to play at the next level.
RHP Will Dean (Hart County, 2021) made one of the biggest impressions on our staff this spring with his performance on the mound at the Georgia Dugout Club Tournament. Dean made two appearances on the bump, one start and one relief appearance. The big right-hander went 7.2 innings, allowing zero hits, zero runs, walking two and striking out 12 batters, earning Most Valuable Pitcher honors.. His lone start included a six inning no-hitter against Riverwood. A strong, stocky 6-foo-1, 215-pounds, Hart sits in the mid-80s with his fastball and is capable of running it up to 87 mph. What was truly impressive was his awareness and purpose on the mound. He had a plan, went out there and executed it. Hart controlled the tempo of the game and flipped over a solid 12/6 breaking ball for strikes routinely. He would be a solid asset at the next level for a school looking for a consistent and competitive arm.
