This week, In the Weeds welcomes the state of Georgia to the mix with three players from the Peach State including an infielder, outfielder, and a left-handed pitcher. Along with the other players on the list, each shows signs of contributing at some level in college, and if given the chance to grow as players could really produce later on. Players on the list also come from California and Kansas.

Will Mize 3B / Snellville, GA / 2019

Mize’s wiry, 6-foot-3, 170-pound frame will likely fill out significantly in the future allowing for even greater power at the plate. The right-handed hitter features twitchy hands that allow him to work quickly through the zone while producing gap to gap power. He has a balanced, slightly crouched set up, and his hands load down and back naturally before a late hand coil initiates the barrel through the zone. He shows signs of being able to create an even greater launch angle in the future, and with continued physical development may have a chance to drive the ball for power. Possessing some natural athleticism, Mize may have a chance to contribute at some level in college on the left side of the infield while also potentially playing some outfield. Overall, his quick hands and feel for the barrel should allow Mize to continue progressing in the future.
