PBR Georgia hosted the annual Top Prospect Games at LakePoint Sports in Emerson, Ga. on June 7th. This yearly invite-only event for the top uncommitted rising seniors in the state brought together nearly 50 prospects for a pro-style workout and live game play.

In the days that followed the event, we produced post-event analysis that includes performance highlights inside of our Quick Hits story and a look at the traditional stats measured within our Statistical Analysis piece.

We will continue our post-event process by rolling out the individual scouting reports of the day. We have already released the catchers, outfielders, and infielders. Today, we taek to the mound to evaluate the pitchers. We will wrap up our event coverage with a listing of the top overall prospects tomorrow.

Top Pitcher Prospects

Brooks House, Winder-Barrow (GA), 2023
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP One of the most projectable arms in the class. Three pitch combo, nowhere near done on velocity.
Body: 6-foot-4, 185-pounds. Lengthy with coat hanger shoulders in a basketball players frame.
Delivery: Funky overhead windup with good balance and direction. Stays connected over rubber and creates A/AVG deception.
Arm Action: RH. deep AA slight wrap from 3/4 slot, gains gradual momentum.
FB: T89.3, 86.7-88.6 mph. Heavy sinker w/ very steep plane thats tough to track.  T2387, 2258 average rpm.
SL: 75.2-78.8 mph. Sudden lateral bite adds a different look to repertoire.  T2146, 2025 average rpm.
CH: 75.3-77.1 mph. Big sidespin causes fade and mirrors slider. T1654, 1620 average rpm.

Walker Shaw, Johns Creek (GA), 2023 MTSU commit
Positional Profile: LHP Ultra projectable, strike thrower.
Body: 6-foot-6, 180-pounds. Lean, wiry frame w/ a lot of room to grow (strength wise)
Delivery: Drop and drive delivery, repeatable, works on-line, lands square, finishes square to home, polished.
Arm Action: LH. One piece arm action, high 3/4 slot, short on the back-side,
FB: T84.2, 82.5-83.4 mph. Creates a steep plane when working low in the zone, plays well up with carry. T2111, 1971 average rpm.
SL: 73.1-75.2 mph. Tight spin, short, late break, tunnels with fastball, swing and miss pitch. T2354, 2257 average rpm.

Luke Earnhardt, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee (GA), 2023
Positional Profile: LHP Starter profile w/ legitimate 3 pitch mix.
Body: 6-foot-1, 200-pounds. Medium size build with thicker upper half.
Delivery: Smooth, controlled pace. Rides down the mound extremely well. Level shoulders keeping him linear to home as he progresses to front foot strike. Soft on front side which makes the delivery appear "effortless" .
Arm Action: LH. 3/4 crossfire arm action that creates deception and unique angles to hitter
FB: T87.6, 84.4-86.8 mph. 2 seam direction, run T2355, 2313 average rpm.
SL: 73.6-74.6 mph. Sweepy w/ late HZB that creates ugly S/M  T2340, 1947 average rpm.
CH: 73.1-73.5 mph. Heavy fade off FB plane. Deceptive arm speed T1427, 1376 average rpm.

Samuel Albee, Fellowship Christian (GA), 2023
Positional Profile: RHP
Body: 6-foot-5, 225-pounds. Large, chiseled frame with high waist and long levers.
Delivery: Stretch only delivery. Upper half stays connected in stride. Level shoulders with minimal head movement allow him to keep good direction to the plate just before front foot strike. Collapses front side when going into rotation which is preventing him from getting the “most” out of his lower half. Landing more firmly on front leg and working to lock out as he releases would give him more power and extension.
Arm Action: RH. 1 piece med circle AA thats very clean & repeatable. Maintains bend in elbow
FB: T88.6, 85.6-88.2 mph. explosive run & sink. T2337, 2170 average rpm.
CB: 74.5-78.5 mph. Much more of a SL. Horizontal bite, late depth.  T2322, 2322 average rpm.

Blayne Newman, Richmond Hill (GA), 2023
Positional Profile: RHP/1B
Body: 6-foot-2, 185-pounds. Strong upper half, broad shoulders, room for more in lower, athletic.
Delivery: Aggressive drop and drive delivery, sits on lower half, works on-line, explosive as stride foot touches down, high front-side, falls off the mound.
Arm Action: RH. Quick clean action on the back-side, explodes through a 3/4 slot with effort.
FB: T88.7, 87.3-88.5 mph. Lively with heavy run, potential swing and miss pitch. T2578, 2455 average rpm.

Delivery: Drop and drive delivery, works on-line, keeps lower half closed as he strides, lands foot closed, finishes crossing over.

Delivery: Stays tall on back-side with smooth rhythm throughout, works on-line, lands square, finishes crossing over.
Arm Action: RH. Quick, loose arm action, some stab action on the back-side, high 3/4 slot.
FB: T87.9, 84.2-86.7 mph. Lively with sinking action, can be overpowering at-times. T2132, 1968 average rpm.

Griffin Howe, Effingham County (GA), 2023
Positional Profile: RHP/3B Very well rounded player who will develop into a complete 2 way. Big potential with solid fundamentals and mechanics overall.
Body: 6-foot-2, 160-pounds. Proportional, very athletic frame with plenty to project. Lean strength.
Delivery: Well paced and postured delivery that build up gradual momentum for late explosiveness.
Arm Action: RH. Loose, mid depth arm action that creates a full circle and builds arm speed well. Effortless.
FB: T85.0, 83.9-84.7 mph. late run T2042, 1846 average rpm.
CB: 73.6-73.8 mph. sharp, lateral shape with late depth. More of a hybrid SL.

Nick Olson, Whitefield Academy (GA), 2023
Positional Profile: RHP Strike thrower with a good feel for FB/CH combo, young for class.
Body: 6-foot-3, 185-pounds. Large frame, high waist, long levers, projectable.
Delivery: Quick tempo windup w/ shoulders angled downhill (makes for sinker profile). Lower half could "sink" better as he gets into leg drive. Front side leg not as stiff at front foot, but gets over it well at release.
Arm Action: RH. Long, loose arm action, easy effort, ¾ slot, repeats.
FB: T86.4, 82.3-85.8 mph. Heavy sinking action from 3/4 slot T1770, 1675 average rpm.
CH: 77.3-80.0 mph. Fade off FB plane and mirrors movement profile of the pitch which makes it even more of a weapon.  T1392, 1270 average rpm.

Hadley Long, Wayne County (GA), 2023
Positional Profile: RHP/3B He could see a big jump in overall stuff.
Body: 6-foot-2, 185-pounds. Wiry, slender frame w/ some projection
Delivery: Gradual build-up. Leg drive mechanics seem adv. w/ foot/heel connection. Sinks into lower half very well, but the arm is a bit late because of hand separation. At front foot strike, the arm is not in an adequate throwing position and because of this, over rotates onto front side causing him to loose extension out front.
Arm Action: RH. Crossfire arm action, ¾ slot, causing some tail
FB: T86, 83.0-85.7 mph. Sink/run characteristics  T1925, 1814 average rpm.

Positional Profile: RHP/C Pitchability righty
Body: 5-foot-10, 170-pounds. Stocky frame with noticeable lower half strength. Upper half is lean with box like shoulders.
Delivery: Overhead windup with solid balance and gradual build up of pace. Hands pause allowing lift knee to match pace before his hands break. Impressive lower half mechanics.
Arm Action: RH. Lengthy but repeatable full circle AA 3/4 slot that picks up momentum with gravity and gets very good extension & arm speed out front. Will drop down to sidearm as well for different look.
FB: T81, 78.6-80.9 mph. Big run at times with solid feel for both edges. Gets ride when he goes sidearm. T1851, 1728 average rpm.
CB: 68.3-69.3 mph. Sweepy shape with some late bite. T1532, 1481 average rpm.

Jayden Reid, Westlake (GA), 2023
Positional Profile: SS/RHP Defense first shortstop who can contribute in a variety of ways.
Body: 5-foot-7, 145-pounds. Medium frame w/ broad shoulders and wiry strength, high waisted, long levers for size.
Delivery: Smooth, well paced delivery that's very low effort and sequenced.
Arm Action: RH. Loose, mid depth AA from a natural, low 3/4 slot. Quick and repeatable.

Delivery: Gradual build up and works down the mound well using lower half. Holds upper half over the rubber well providing power output through rotation.
Arm Action: RH. Short 3/4 arm action that works downhill well

Positional Profile: 1B/RHP Projectable corner infielder that has a lot of room to grow in the field and at the plate. Unsure of what the future holds for him defensively at the moment.
