Here are some highlights from the workout, separated out by team…
BRAVE: Looking at the roster, the first name to jump out for the Brave is OF/RHP Jordon Adell (Ballard HS, KY). With his lean and athletic 6-foot-3, 198-pound frame, the Louisville recruit certainly looks the part. His BP session was inconsistent, as his timing was off and he got jammed some. But when his timing was on, the ball jumped. He has some length to his swing, but flashed solid bat speed and flashed power to his pull side. At least five balls left the yard in his four rounds…2018 OF/LHP Mike Siani (William Penn Charter HS, PA) turned some heads with his arm strength. It’s above average and he got good carry to his throws from the outfield. They maintained a low trajectory and were on target. At the plate, he had a pull approach, with an upper cut swing and showed average raw power…SS Mark Vientos (Flanagan HS, FL) is squarely on the prospect radar as one of the top position players in the country and did nothing to dissuade that notion today. He showed a strong arm with carry on defense and then bat speed in BP as the ball was flying off his barrel to left and left-center field.
