Season Review: Walnut Grove
April 22, 2020
Our goal at Prep Baseball Report is to promote high school players, and give them the exposure they need to be able to play at the next level. With the 2020 high school season cancelled, we want to continue to be able to promote players, even when baseball is not being played. We have sent surveys out to coaches around the state and got their input on the first weeks of the season. Over the next few weeks, we will highlight the season and standout players, team by team.
WALNUT GROVE
Record: 7-3
Walnut Grove was led by a couple seniors that will go on the play college baseball. They will look to build for 2021 with a solid 2021 class, and a few underclassman that earned varsity time this season. During the 2020 season they had a a couple big wins about Grayson and Johns Creek.

1/11/20 - Uncommitted 2021 3B Coby Wilkerson will be a real long ball threat this spring at Walnut Grove High School. His swing works with length through the zone as he looks to elevate the ball and drive it with force, 91 exit velocity. A projectable 6-foot-2, 183-pounds there is a ton of room for him to add additional strength and power.
Owen Morgan, RHP, Walnut Grove, 2021
Uncommitted
Season Statistics: 16 IP, .875 ERA
Underclass Standouts:
Tyler James, RHP/IF, Walnut Grove, 2022
Uncommitted
Season Statistics: 2.62 ERA
Coach's Notes: James didn't get a lot of varsity time on the mound due to the crazy schedule but we are looking for him to have a solid JR year.
Braxton Brooks, UT, Walnut Grove, 2023
Uncommitted
Coach's Notes: Started as a freshman for us in LF.
