Season Review: East Paulding

Our goal at Prep Baseball Report is to promote high school players, and give them the exposure they need to be able to play at the next level. With the 2020 high school season cancelled, we want to continue to be able to promote players, even when baseball is not being played. We have sent surveys out to coaches around the state and got their input on the first weeks of the season. Over the next few weeks, we will highlight the season and standout players, team by team.

4-0 with 46 K's in 21 IP; 1.00 ERA

2/22/20 - South Carolina recruit. 6-foot-4, 205 pounds. One of the top MLB draft prospects in the state. Phipps went 3.0 IP with 0 H allowed in a shortened game. Large frame, slightly closed landing, ¾ slot. Showed lower effort than previous starts. Set tone with FB at 90-93, T94. Slider at 74-77. Slipped out on back-door to RHH, but showed typical sharp action on wipe-out counts to LHH. Did not need to throw off speed much, but showed it. Has been a put-away pitch.
