Brookwood
2024, RHP/OF, Clinton Harris
Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 190 pounds. When we moved Harris to No. 46 in our latest 2024 Rankings update, we felt it was a move for both the present and future. He has ridiculous athleticism, arm speed, and NOW velo. The delivery is steadily moving in the right direction, as he’s made very good upper half adjustments to make his tilt more subtle to let him get downhill more naturally and free up his extension. Due to this and some good work with Coach Shellnut on his CB, the pitch is up 5-6 mph on average and getting more sudden bite with twice the depth it had last summer. Just those two improvements have me twice as sold on Clinton’s long term goals (to be a big leaguer), and I was already high on him going into the matchup. The rawness in his game is with things like - taking too much time in between pitches and changing his bigger leg lift & up+down+out phases to more of a slide step (causing his upper half to drift/rush in stride, and impacting line to plate). Ideally he will be directly in between the larger lift and the slide step for more tempo and to give his arm time to develop over the rubber. When it soon fully clicks for him on the mound, it’s going to be absolutely incredible. A few years from now you’re going to know him as Clinton Harris, the guy that throws 94-97 with violent bore and a hammer CB. When you see how physically strong+lean & how athletic he is, it’s easy to see how endless the ceiling is. When seeing how well he handles adversity on the mound and what type of makeup he has, you know he’s going to succeed in this game. The athleticism, durable frame, arm action, and pure stuff are currently his biggest separators. What was most eye opening, other than the dramatically improved CB, were the 2 FB’s (91, and 92) at the start of his video that showed A/AVG bore. It’s no coincidence that he created the most leverage and momentum with his glove side on those two pitches. If you aren’t yet in on Harris, the time is now.

Raw but SPECIAL arm talent. FB is a 🔒 for both plus life & velo in future. 1 of my favorite AA in class. Advanced hip hinge & closed foot lander 👀. Both arm speed+arm strength!
