Scouting Report

10/16/16 - Home-1st: 4.55, Position Velocity:  OF - 86, Exit Velocity: 91
6-foot-3, 185-pound, RHH hits from a taller and slightly open stance with good balance and relaxed hands, uses a slow, smooth, and abbreviated leg kick and longer stride with a smooth lowering and movement back with his hands to get loaded, lower half fires well to get some good separation but does stay tall and could gain more leverage, swing plane comes into the zone a little steeply but flattens out through the ball to show some gap-to-gap potential.  Defensively, plays athletically in the outfield by playing through the ball well with soft hands and good footwork, long arm action through a high ¾ slot shows a lot of life with good carry.  Grenkoski only hit in Game 2 and finished 1-3 with a run scored. One of the top players in the 2019 class.

10/16/16 - Max FB: 85, FB: 82-85, CB: 70-72,
6-foot-3, 185-pound, RHP has been one of the youngest and most impressive players in the 2019 class for months and didn’t do anything to change that here, smooth and rhythmic delivery is pretty consistent and engages his entire body, high leg lift and reach down the mound display his length and athleticism on the mound, strides in line, long arm action is pretty loose and clean through a high ¾ slot, size and movements project continued growth and progress.  Fastball showed run and was very heavy, curveball showed 11/5 to 10/4 shape with almost a slider-like action.  Grenkoski struck out 1 without allowing a run and showed pretty consistent command of the zone.  He continues to improve each and every time we seen him.

7/26/16 - Max FB: 84, FB: 83-84, CB: 69-71,
6-foot-3, 185-pound, RHP is very long and athletic and uses a great deal of that to his advantage. Grenkoski stays tall throughout his delivery and finishes standing almost straight but very much in line on almost every pitch. Uses very good rhythm throughout his delivery and parlays that into a long and loose arm action that comes through a ¾ arm slot and showed some real projectability.  Fastball showed some subtle run and stayed firm through the zone, breaking ball had some sharp 11/5 shape and was thrown for strikes.  As a young 2019, Grenkoski has plenty of time to continue growing on the mound and should be highly regarded.  He earned a spot on the Tennessee Future Games team with his performance.

7/26/16 -  Home-1st: 4.63, Position Velocity:  88, Exit Velocity: 84
6-foot-3, 185-pound, RHH hits from a tall and open stance and uses a slight leg kick and a fairly long stride along with a slight movement back with his hands to get loaded, lower half works well but could be utilized much better with some more leverage, bat path is pretty flat through the zone but can get a little steep, front arm can stay straight and cause him to hit around the ball at times, drove some balls deep in the gap in BP when he stayed through it.  Defensively, uses his athleticism more than anything when working through the ball, a clean exchange and a high ¾ release produced some very good arm strength and accurate throws.  Grenkoski earned a spot on Tennessee’s Future Games team from his performance at the Underclass Games.
