Georgia commit. The freshman has started his varsity career by setting the bar extremely high. The young right-hander has a mature approach on the mound and feel beyond his years, he carries himself like a senior, and pitches like someone who has years of varsity experience under his belt. It is becoming the norm to see Hembree command multiple pitches to both sides of the zone and get swing and miss regularly. On Saturday night, he put in a complete game 5 hit shutout against Hart County. Fastball sat 81-84, touched 86 late in the game, armside run. Had the wherewithal to know he did not have to gas it by batters, but rather rely on his movement to work the lineup, ramped it up when he needed to. Curveball, 1/7 shape, high spin rate, sharp action with depth, 68-71. Going to be extremely fun to watch this freshman continue to grow and dominate opposing lineups.

Georgia commit. 5-foot-11, 155-pound athletically built left-handed pitcher, projectable build, one of the top pitching prospects in the 2023 class. Got the start against No. 3 Houston Co. Did not shy away from a strong lineup, went right after them. Arm works loose and clean, strong flick of the wrist through release out of a ¾ window. Fastball sat 84-86, located up and down in the zone. Changeup, maintains fastball arm speed, creates deception, kept low in the zone, playing into the fade and sink action of the pitch, 77-78. Curveball, 12/6 shape, big breaker, depth, swing and miss pitch, 71-72.

2023 Jake Hembree threw efficiently for the East Cobb Astros. He understands how to use different muscles when pitching and stays in his legs to generate power. The arm is fast and looks like a whip on release. He finishes all the way across his back maximizing extension and spin. His fastball sits between 80-83 with the potential to add to it by more than a few ticks. The breaking ball was in the low 70s and measured over 2700 rpm on a fair share of them.
