Last weekend, September 23rd and 24th, 12 Junior Colleges from Florida gathered in Auburndale, at Lake Mrytle Park, to play a a series of fall ball games in front of a crowd of approximately 100 scouts. PBR Florida, in conjunction with PBR JUCO, was on-hand to take in all the action. Read below to find reports, videos and notes on nearly 40 prospects.
Junior Colleges: Polk State, Chipola, Hillsborough, Seminole State, State College of Florida, Florida Southwestern State, Lake Sumter, South Florida State, Palm Beach State, St. Petersburg, St. John's River State, Eastern Florida State
SEMINOLE STATE
Haden Erbe, RHP, Seminole State (RS-SO)
One of the biggest winners of the weekend. The Louisiana-Lafayette transfer has some present strength, especially in the lower half, in his 6-foot-3, 220 pound frame. Working from the stretch only, he has a very simple delivery. The arm action is very compact, clean, and quick. He worked with low effort and the fastball worked an easy 94-95 mph with riding life through the zone. Erbe also showed a feel for a curveball at 77-78 mph that had tight spin and depth through the zone, proving to be a swing and miss pitch. Overall, there was a lot to like and easily one of the top arms in the state if he can continue to build off of what he showed on Saturday.
