Georgia 2025 Rankings: Newcomers

It was nearly two weeks ago that we updated and expanded our Class of 2025 rankings, and the content has not stopped rolling. We started our analysis of this class with a full fledged breakdown of the top-10 prospects. Then, we did a two part series, Moonshots - Part 1 and Moonshots - Part 2, on prospects who rose or debuted in the top-50 in the class. Finally, we want to shine a light on the ten newcomers to our top-150, who fall outside the top-50. Keep in mind that this class is still young, and there is plenty of movement still to be made. More than a few of these prospects mentioned, along with others, will eventually find themselves in the top-50, and maybe higher, in due time.

Jeffrey Diaz C / Rabun Gap Nacoochee , GA / 2025Rankings StateRank: 42 / POS: 8
Uncommitted. 5-foot-8, 220-pounds. Diaz is a newcomer to the Peach State, transferring out of New York to Rabun Gap Nacoochee. Prior to his move, Diaz was the No. 5 ranked prospect in New York, and now slots in at No. 42 Georgia. From the looks of it, he has a chance to quickly trend up the rankings. Diaz is built like a boulder with advanced strength throughout his 5-foot-8 frame. He still maintains good athleticism with all that muscle and shows no struggles of creating a reliable target behind the plate. He has advanced hands and a soft glove, framing pitches with ease. Diaz has an advanced arm to go along with exceptional receiving skills, putting him among some of the best in the class. The strength also plays at the plate, something our PBR New York staff noted two years ago. Diaz has elite bat speed and an explosive lower half that allow for him to generate driven contact to all fields. We look forward to getting our eyes on Diaz in the coming months. |
