John DeVore
Chattahoochee
Artie Neubauer, C/1B, Chattahoochee, 2021
6-foot-3, 225. Strong presence in the box, looks to do damage. Calm stance and load with an aggressive swing; short finish. Showed pull-side power with multiple hard hit balls to left-side. Had a double off the LF wall and a hard line out to LF on Saturday night.
Really like the way Artie Neubauer has swung it for Chattahoochee tonight. Lines out on a ball hit on the nose here. Banged a double off the wall earlier in the game. #GDC pic.twitter.com/s9CyAUqNJO

Marietta
Ben Edwards, CIF, Marietta, 2020
Strong uncommitted player at 6-foot-3, 200 pounds. Had a very impressive weekend at the plate. Low hands to start with medium base. Bat stays flat throughout the swing. Generates backspin to all fields. Hit FB’s hard to LF, including a double off the LF wall at 96 mph off the bat.
Ty Halliburton, RHP, Marietta, 2020
5-foot-10, 150 pounds with a strong lower-half. Competes on the mound. Low-effort delivery with clean, short arm action. Challenged hitters in the cold with FB at 82-84, T86. Breaking ball showed true CB and SLV shape at times at 74-77. Consistent strike-thrower.
Ty Halliburton has put the scoring to a halt out of the bullpen for @MHSBaseball_1. The @PBR_Uncommitted 2020 has battled the cold well. FB sitting 82-84; T85, 86. CB: 74-77 with two shapes, at times. Clean arm, balanced throughout. #GDC pic.twitter.com/2U2KI9PVlp

Carlson Reed, RHP, Marietta, 2020
West Virginia recruit. Large, lanky frame with tons of projection at 6-foot-3, 185 pounds. Was very impressive in 6.1 IP. Did not allow a hit in outing. Three three-pitch-mix with confidence; all pitches finding success. Reed’s FB was a lively 88-90 from a long, full arm motion. Spun breaking ball very well; tight spin, late power action at 72-74. Threw CH at 81 with same FB arm-speed; deceptive pitch. Stuff looked very impressive. Competitor.
2020 Carlson Reed (@MHSBaseball_1; @WVUBaseball) is putting his 3 pitches on display tonight. FB sitting 88-90 w/life. Spinning CB w/ tight spin at 72-74. Also showing an impressive CH at 81; very deceptive out of hand. #MLBDraft #PBRSpinZone @NathanRode pic.twitter.com/DYppobTTaf

Troup
Devon Murphy, RHP/SS, Troup, 2023
5-foot-11 155-pounds. A stable in the Troup lineup and on the mound. The freshman shows a ton of competitiveness. He was a standout at the plate in the first week of the George Dugout Club tournament. On the mound he challenges hitters. FB is 75-78 T80. Stays down in the zone. Flips the CB at 63-65. OT arm slot. Really drives down the mound, and gets behind the baseball on the finish. Murphy has a bright future for Troup, and will be an impact player in the years to come.
Coming off a strong performance at last weeks @gdcbaseball tournament. 2023 Devon Murphy has thrown 3 scoreless against @MHSBaseball_1 Competitive freshman for @TroupBaseball

West Forsyth
Luke Cartenuto, RHP, West Forsyth, 2020
Uncommitted. 5-foot-11, 168 pounds. High-energy player who competed well over the weekend. Throws from a low ¾ slot, allowing FB to have armside run at 82-84, T85. Slider at 71 gave enough change of speed to keep hitters guessing. Used mix of two pitches frequently and missed barrels all outing.
2020 Luke Cartenuto (@LukeCartenuto) has thrown 3 shutout innings thus far for West Forsyth. Running the FB from a low 3/4 slot at 82-84, T85. Finding success with SL at 71. #GDC pic.twitter.com/Oe9q62D5Nd

Harry Lloyd
Allatoona
Logan McGuire, RHP, Allatoona, 2021
6-foot-3, 170-pound right-handed pitcher, long, projectable frame, has only just begun to add strength to his frame, much more to come and will only increase his ceiling, one of the top uncommitted arms in the 2021 class. Long, loose arm action, quick arm speed, controlled tempo in delivery, hard pull down at release. Generates power from core and lower half in a drop and drive delivery, manages to stay tall. Fastball sat 87-90, touched 92 with sinking action, works down in the zone with good angle. Curveball, 12/6 shape, depth. Mostly straight changeup at 80. Is so dominant with his fastball, and has above-average command with that he uses offspeed only when needed. High follow arm.
Ethan Sutton, RHP, Allatoona, 2023
6-foot-2, 185 pounds. Showed advanced stuff for age. Battled runners early in the outing. The long-limbed righty showed an athletic arm that works from an OT slot. Fastball sat 82-84, T85. CB at 70-72 showed large shape; shows promise in action. Cutter at 77 showed a different look and commanded the outer-half of the plate. Arm to follow.
Ethan Sutton (@ethansutton2023) gets the start for @ahsbucsbaseball. The 6-foot-2 2023 is sitting 82-84, T85. Showing a CT at 77 and throwing breaking ball at 70-72 for strikes, early. Long arm with advanced stuff for age. #GDC pic.twitter.com/cceXg32d5r

Dutchtown
Nate McCollum, OF, Dutchown, 2020
Georgia Tech football and baseball commit. One of the most athletic prospects in the 2020 class, can fly around the outfield and on the basepaths. Stands 5-foot-8, 180-pound with a strong lower half, right-handed hitting outfielder. At the plate, balanced setup, hands load back and up, keeps barrel vertical, short leg kick timing trigger, good balanced throughout. Barrel path works mostly level, quick hands, looks to create line drive contact. Plays into his strength, which is his speed. Once on base, immediately looking to advance bases, is not afraid to test even the best backstops. His reputation as a superb athlete precedes itself, gets into the pitchers head because they know what is coming. Had a hard hit single back up the middle on an 88 mph fastball against Allatoona.
Bryant Herring, OF, Dutchtown, 2021
5-foot-9, 160-pound left-handed hitting outfielder, athletically built with developing strength throughout frame, good head on his shoulders as well. The bat has made impressive strides over the past few months. Advanced feel for the barrel and the ability to make contact. Facing pitching in the upper-80s, and some 90 mph fastballs, against Allatoona’s Logan McGuire, Herring battled off multiple pitches, taking the at-bat into double digits. Can handle velocity and not be fooled by above-average breaking balls. A prospect to watch as he is quickly improving.
Chapel Hill
Alec Hagan, RHP, Chapel Hill, 2020
Uncommitted arm with present stuff on the mound. 6-foot-1, 185 pounds. Body is athletic, arm is quick, clean, and controlled. Fastball sat 82-84; snuck up on hitters. 11/5 breaking ball at 72 mph showed sharp action. Spun the ball very well and maintained confidence in secondary pitch. Showed ability to throw CB in any count.
Alec Hagan (2020; @hagan_alec) of Chapel Hill is showing feel for 2-pitch-mix out of the bullpen. FB is sitting 82-84 with clean arm action. Really spinning the breaking ball at 72. #GDC pic.twitter.com/KGJZTkQtQs

East Paulding
Jackson Phipps, LHP, East Paulding, 2020
South Carolina recruit. 6-foot-4, 205 pounds. One of the top MLB draft prospects in the state. Phipps went 3.0 IP with 0 H allowed in a shortened game. Large frame, slightly closed landing, ¾ slot. Showed lower effort than previous starts. Set tone with FB at 90-93, T94. Slider at 74-77. Slipped out on back-door to RHH, but showed typical sharp action on wipe-out counts to LHH. Did not need to throw off speed much, but showed it. Has been a put-away pitch.
Jackson Phipps (@1ackson; @GamecockBasebll) doing what he does best.
