Future Games Spotlight - 3B Ean Marria

Phil Kerber
Georgia Scouting Director

The 2022 PBR Future Games are less than two weeks away, and will be here in no time. With that being said, we would like to introduce you to this year's Team Georgia. We will roll out individual player spotlights with comments, video, stats, and more over the next few days.

If you weren't following the GHSA season closely, you may have missed that 3B Ean Marria (Sequoyah; Georgia Jackets) put together one of the top seasons for a 2025 at the varsity level. This summer has been a little different though, as Marria has forced eyes upon himself with his booming bat. A 5-foot-11, 200-pound right-handed hitter with advanced strength in his lower half, he consistently gets to his power in game. A strong front-side coupled with quick hand speed helps Marria get into a power position and lift the ball with next level force, capable of hitting triple digit exit velocities.. If that is not enough, his ability to control the plate and see pitches stands out. Marria may be one of the youngest bats on the team, but he just might have the loudest of them all.

5-foot-11, 200-pound right-handed hitting third baseman, advanced strength throughout frame especially in lower half, impact power bat. Relaxed setup at the plate with barrel resting on shoulder, smooth hand load couple with a low leg kick timing trigger, smooth rhythm and great balance, consistently gets to the same hitting position. Uses his strong lower half to generate advanced force, quick hand and bat speed, strong front-side helps get him extended through the zone and lift the ball with driving power. Power to all fields with plenty more on the way. Athletic at third with feel for the glove and more than enough arm strength.

Marria possesses advanced strength for his age, standing a strong and sturdy 5-foot-10, 190-pounds. He creates consistent hard contact from the right-side with a sound swing that works long through the zone.
