First Look: SS/OF Christian Jackson
January 22, 2020
Jackson stands a strong, athletic 5-foot-11, 165-pounds with long arms and legs, projecting to add a considerable amount of strength to his overall physique as he continues to physically develop. What stands out the most about Jackson's style of play is the overall aggressiveness by which he does everything, while still maintaining his natural athletic ability.
From both the infield and outfield, his arm works short, loose and with quick arm speed. Given this ability, more velocity is certainly to come as he matures (81 mph across the infield, 84 mph from the outfield). While he looks like a natural shortstop with fluid actions and a soft glove-hand, there is no doubt he could also man center field to a high degree. Offensively, he keeps his shoulders downhill and uses his quick hands to drive the ball back up the middle and to the opposite field with force (86 mph exit velocity).
