Dodging Rain Drops In Georgia

EMERSON, GA—You can plan out schedules for the spring all you want, but if there is one thing you can count on, it’s that things will change. Since I got schedules, I’ve had this week circled for a trip to Georgia and planned on spending six days in the Atlanta area. The first hiccup in the plans came when RHP
Ethan Hankins (Forsyth Central HS, GA) got hurt, but there was still plenty to see. Then pitching rotations weren’t lining up as I would have hoped. No matter, I could still pack a lot into even a three-day swing. Then the weather came. RHP
Kumar Rocker (North Oconee HS, GA) had his start pushed even before I left North Carolina and the rest of Georgia was likely to get washed out too. Several teams moved their games to LakePoint’s turf fields so I made the drive Thursday morning. LHP
Luke Bartnicki (Walton HS, GA) was supposed to make a short appearance and Cartersville HS, GA, would be on a nearby field with C
Anthony Seigler and SS
Devin Warner.
