2019 MLB Draft: College Risers

Fall workouts have come and gone, and with that, there are a certain group of prospects who saw their MLB draft stock surge with strong showings this fall.

Perhaps no single prospect helped his stock more than Louisville’s Tyler Fitzgerald. The talented shortstop has always had some impressive tools, but he finished last season with average numbers and entered the summer and fall with something to prove.

Fitzgerald accomplished that goal and more for the Cardinals this fall. In addition to showing smooth actions and consistency in the field, he was an absolute terror to deal with at the plate. He showed big-time power and was Louisville’s most consistent hitter throughout fall workouts.

The rising shortstop isn’t alone in the elevated stock department. Baylor’s Cody Bradford continues to make strides, while we also feature a pair of junior college arms who made some serious noise the past few months. We break down those players and other college risers below.
