The 2024 Georgia high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in mid-May inside one of Coolray Field, AdventHealth Stadium, or JI Clements Stadium at Georgia Southern University. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

TEAM OUTLOOK

• Coach Oberg, and the Lamar County Trojans are coming off of a strong 22-11 season in 2023 and also making an appearance in the class 1A-Public Sweet 16. The 2024 Trojans will be led by a very large and talented Senior class. The pitching staff will be led by Senior Cameron King (FAMU Commit) and the rest of the starting rotation being rounded out by Seniors Talon Dender (ABAC Commit) and Jake Hutto. Senior Backstop Johnny Stone (South GA State Commit) will play a big role both offensively and defensively as he helps lead the pitching staff. The Trojans will look to Seniors Hutson Traylor, Caden Dewitt, and Mark Lara to be key contributors to this talented lineup in hopes of making another deep run in the playoffs in 2024. The Trojans will open up their 2024 season at home against Dublin High School on 2/14.
