The 2024 Georgia high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in mid-May inside one of Coolray Field, AdventHealth Stadium, or JI Clements Stadium at Georgia Southern University. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

TEAM OUTLOOK

• In 2024, Coach Bailey will lead this team with it being his first year as the Head Coach of the Apalachee Wildcats. Coach Bailey will have a very large Senior class and a team with a lot of experience that made a playoff appearance in 2023 to lean on. Senior Judah Powell will lead the way offensively and on the mound. Powell ended 2023 with a big offensive season with 14 HR on the year. Senior backstop TJ Wilson will help lead this experienced pitching staff. Senior Colin Hedges will bring a ton of experience to this team having started 82 games in his high school career. Nate Valles will be a key part on the mound for his Senior year after posting a 2.47 ERA in 2023. The infield will be led at SS by Junior and two year starter Hudson Mashburn. Traver Park will be a key component of the Wildcat offense as he looks to continue his dominance at the plate and be an XBH machine. The Wildcats will open their 2024 campaign on 2/14 against Peachtree Ridge.
