2023 PBR All-American Game, Spotlight: Dominic Stephenson
September 6, 2023
On Saturday, Sept. 23, Prep Baseball Report is hosting its inaugural High School All-American Game at American Family Field, home of the Milwaukee Brewers. The unique event will feature the nation’s top high school seniors who are set to battle against a roster of the country’s best juniors in Class of 2024 vs. Class of 2025 action, giving pro scouts a unique look at current and future draft classes.
We’ve begun to unveil the event’s participants on our social media channels, and we’ll spotlight those players more closely on our site, too, highlighting past performances and scouting reports from the live looks we’ve gathered on this gifted group throughout the years.
Next we are highlighting Dominic Stephenson, a Georgia native and one of the top-ranked backstops in the nation's 2025 class. No stranger to PBR events, Stephenson represented the Peach State both at the 2021 PBR Junior Future Games and the 2022 PBR Future Games. He exploded onto the at the latter of the two, committing to Georgia Tech shortly after. He has been prominently ranked within the top-50 in his class since. Next, he will make the trip north to Milwaukee for the inaugural PBR All-American Game.
Prep Baseball Report's VP of Scouting Shooter Hunt had this to say about Stephenson following the 2022 PBR Future Games: "Stephenson was easily one of my favorite players at the event, performing well in all facets including presenting one of the highest ceilings at the event. The 6-foot-1, 168-pounder has significant room to add strength to a frame that is already impressive, and will only get more so. Behind the dish, his loose hips and soft hands provided the look of an advanced receiver, and the catch-and-throw capability is elite for the class. Though the defense was stellar, the bat is what really stood out at the event. A right-handed hitter, Stephenson slows things down in the box allowing his quick hands to work freely with length from the barrel through the zone while on a flat path. He went 3-for-6 in game play against some premium arms, and showed no issue tracking, picking up spin early and maintaining balance. It appears likely that he will see a significant uptick in power in coming years. Overall, the Future Games was a massive coming out party for the young Georgia product."
