Tampa Catholic Scout Day: Standouts

The 2023 Tampa Catholic Scout Day took place November 18 at Tampa Catholic High School in Tampa, FL. The event featured players from the 2024-2027 classes participating in a pro-style workout and bullpens in front of the PBR Florida Scouting Staff.

Athletic switch hitter at 5-foot-11, 165 pounds. Bat speed from both sides of the plate but looked stronger from the left with pull-side power potential. Up to 89 across the infield and a best 2.08 pop time behind the plate.

Jackson Giovenco RHP / 1B / TAMPA CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL, FL / 2027Strong bodied freshman at 5-foot-11, 180 pounds. Loose hands at the plate driving both gaps with power potential. Up to 80 on the mound for strikes with more to come.

Recent Ole Miss recruit impressed throughout the workout. 6-foot-1, 180 pounds. Switch hitter showed natural juice from the right side putting multiple balls out pull side in BP. Rangy defender with an above average arm.

Hershey Sanchez MIF / SS / Tampa Catholic, FL / 20245-foot-9, 155 pound middle infielder looks to have added strength in the weight room. Athletic mover up the middle with soft hands. Offensively, works uphill with feel for the barrel. Stays timed up to the pull side gap. Eckerd recruit.
