The 2024 High School season is underway. Each week, high school coaches around the state will be nominating players for Pitcher and Hitter of the Week. We will choose the top four nominees for Pitcher and Hitter and let the public vote on a Twitter poll. Players who were nominated but not chosen for Pitcher or Hitter of the Week will be highlighted in a Diamond Notes article on Tuesday.

Pitcher of the Week: Week 2

Gio Rojas LHP / 1B / Marjory Stoneman Douglas, FL / 2026 Rojas was brilliant against Taravella in Week 2. He threw a complete game shutout allowing just one hit and recorded eighteen strikeouts. He had a perfect game broken up with two outs in the seventh. Week 2 Stats: 7 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 18 K

Aiden Arnett OF / SS / Trinity Christian (JAX), FL / 2025 Arnett swung the bat well in Week 2 collecting ten total hits. Those ten hits included two home runs and seven RBI. Week 2 Stats: 10-14 2 HR, 7 RBI, 1 2B, 6 R
