Mobile Summer ID: Quick Hits

BAY MINETTE, AL - The Mobile Summer ID was held on Thursday, May 30th at Coastal Alabama-South CC in Bay Minette, AL. This event was an open event that consisted of prospects from the 2025-2029 classes. These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman and Blast Motion, ran the 60-yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw in simulated bullpens during the workout and were able to get numbers and metrics off of our Trackman unit, such as pitch velocity, spin rate, horizontal & vertical movement & much more. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on Thursday.
Kicking off our post-event coverage for this event, we take a look back at some of the top performers and standouts from Thursday. Continuing over the course of the next week or so, we will release different statistical leaderboards for the event then transition into releasing individual scouting reports for each player in attendance.

Rock Gearhart OF / Fairhope High School, AL / 2025Rankings StateRank: 76 / POS: 18
Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 226-pounds. Ultra-physical, imposing frame with impressive stature. Tons of strength throughout the frame, especially in the lower-half. A multi-sport prospect who plays defensive end on the gridiron. Fairly athletic for his size running a 7.16 60-yard dash during the workout. One of the more anticipated rounds of BP and it certainly impressed showing easy gap-to-gap pop hitting from a simple and balanced right-handed stance. Short movement to the baseball using a short, quick stride and allows strength to take over from there. Impacts the ball at a high-level with consistent mid-90 EVs and a top EV of 100.3 mph, an event-best. Left the yard a few times and showed above-average bat speed. Really cemented himself this spring with a strong season hitting in the heart of the order for a 7A program that won over 30 games and hit .397 with five home runs and 42 RBIs. Recorded the best Edge Score from the event with an 85.51 and was up to 88 mph from the OF. Impressed our staff with his makeup. Just a really physical uncommitted prospect who has shown the ability to perform in-game against the state's best competition and checks plenty of boxes across the board.

Brady Cole Harrison OF / Elberta High School, AL / 2025Rankings StateRank: 80 / POS: 19
Uncommitted. 6-foot-0, 161-pounds. Lean, uber-athletic frame and skill set with room to add mass down the road. Continues to build off a strong baseline of tools over the course of the last year with nearly every metric and statistic improved in this viewing. Line-drive type hitter who looks to utilize his speed offensively; should be able to slug a bit more down the road as he continues to develop and grown into his build with added strength. Slightly-open right-handed stance with a controlled load; hands stay tucked and fires fast hands through contact with a mostly level bat path. Showed quality feel for the right-handed barrel and recorded a top EV of 94.5 mph during his round of BP. Superior athlete who clocked a 6.71 60-yard dash and flashed elite arm strength with a top velocity of 94 mph from the outfield, both event-bests. Still a lean, wiry build and should only continue to improve over the next year and beyond while currently being regarded as one of the top uncommitted outfielders in the 2025 class in Alabama.

Camden Barnett C / Tuscaloosa County High School, AL / 2025Rankings StateRank: 144 / POS: 23
Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 175-pounds. Long and lean frame with still some projectable strength to potentially come down the road. Offense-first type prospect who performed well near the top of the order this spring for a quality 7A program and impressed with some above-average metrics during his Prep Baseball showcase debut. Hits from a tall, slightly-open stance and uses a quicker leg kick for timing. Really does a good job of holding weight on his back-side and firing a heavier barrel to contact from the left side. Looks to lift and drive gap-to-gap and did so during his round with multiple low-90 EVs and a top EV of 99.1 mph. Also a well-rounded athlete for a catcher recording a 7.13 60-yard dash during the workout, and flashed above-average arm strength with a top catcher velocity of 78 mph, an event-best. Also appears to be athletic enough to move to a corner outfield spot in the future if needed, as well. Another quality uncommitted prospect in the 2025 class in Alabama.

Brady Godwin RHP / Jay High School, FL / 2025Uncommitted. 6-foot-5, 201-pounds. Strong frame with proportional strength throughout his frame. Workhorse, starter-type build with intriguing four-pitch mix. Certainly passes the eye test and looks the part on the mound. Probably was the most impressive pitcher from the event showing a lively fastball and good feel for his three secondary offerings. Gradual build of pace throughout the delivery and creates loads of separation on his stride down the mound with some layback. Good whip and quickness to the arm stroke producing a fastball sittting 86-88 mph that showcased some natural arm-side run and a 97% spin efficiency. Spins two distinct breaking balls; slider has short action with tight spin and late break while the curveball has more top-to-bottom shape and spins near the 2400 RPM mark. Changeup rounds out his repertoire ranging 73-75 mph and features the same amount of arm-side fade as his fastball. Kills spin well on it too with an average of 1190 RPM. Intriguing uncommitted right-handed pitcher who possesses impressive stature and a quality four-pitch mix.

Jack Malone C / RHP / Bayshore Christian, AL / 2025Rankings StateRank: 103 / POS: 14
Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 212-pounds. Good present strength through the build and some quality athleticism for size. Good combination of strength and quickness from the right side of the plate and displayed some of the better gap-to-gap power during the event. Hits from a balanced, athletic stance and utilizes a toe-tap trigger. Plenty of rotation and some quick-twitch and uses strength to his advantage, looking to turn the right-handed barrel with some intent. Hammered balls with easy gap-to-gap pop during his round and posted a 99.9 mph EV, second-best from the event. An above-average athlete who clocked a 7.03 60-yard dash and has been quicker at an event this summer. Good catch-and-throw skills with a quick transfer that produced 1.97-2.07 pop times and a 75 mph C velocity.

Hank Hudson SS / Opelika High School, AL / 2026Uncommitted. 5-foot-11, 170-pounds. Lean, athletic frame. Some room to add. Athletic, smooth actions all-around. Built a strong baseline of statistics/metrics in his first Prep Baseball showcase to build on in the future. Ranked near the top of most statistical categories from the event. Started on the infield this spring for a quality 7A program and continued to impress yesterday. Hits from a balanced, athletic right-handed stance and uses a bigger, controlled leg kick for timing trigger. Possesses some lag for the barrel and drives through contact well with a strong top hand. Barrel works on a slightly-uphill plane which produced consistent upper-80 EVs during his round of BP. Clocked a 7.03 60-yard dash and posted the top infield velocity of 88 mph across the diamond.

Lakota Johnson OF / Deane Bozeman School, FL / 2025Uncommitted. 5-foot-9, 169-pounds. Compact frame with strong lower-half and advanced athletic ability. Multi-sport prospect who appears to be a gamer on the diamond. Hits from an athletic right-handed setup with good posture and looks relaxed in the box. Hands stay short throughout the swing and displays a strong understanding for the sweet spot of the barrel. Contact-oriented approach hitting from the right side with the ability to spray. Consistent line drives to all fields during his round of BP, posting numerous low-90 EVs and a top of 96.1 mph. Appears to have plenty of defensive versatility going through the workout as an infielder and outfielder, and has the athleticism to do so. Clocked a 6.82 60-yard dash, second-best from the event.

Darren Leggett 3B / RHP / Fairhope High School , AL / 2025Uncommitted. 5-foot-10, 201-pounds. Thick, physical build with a good amount of strength in the lower extremeties. Really did everything at an above-average level during his first Prep Baseball showcase yesterday and was one of the bigger winners from the day. A physical right-handed bat, Leggett was consistently on the barrel throughout his round posting numerous low-90 EVs and a top EV of 95.3 mph. He's really short and quick to the point of contact and has above-average bat speed combined with his strength to impact the baseball at a high-level. No wasted movement in the swing, and left the yard a couple times during his round. Clocked a 7.28 60-yard dash. Also showed some ability on the mound working up to 84 mph with tons of arm-side run.

Wyatt Pippin RHP / Faith Academy, AL / 2026Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 186-pounds. Long, slender build. Good amount of projection still remaining but still showing a quality four-pitch mix during his bullpen. Worked mostly out of the stretch during the outing and showcased a loose, whippy arm action that produced a fastball sitting 83-86 mph and registering spin rates around 2500 RPM. He features two distinct breaking balls; slider shows tunneling action at 76-77 mph with 2400 RPM spin rates and 10-14 in. of horizontal break, curveball ranges 71-74 mph and has more depth and vertical break with 2400 RPM spin rates. Also showed power changeup sitting 81-82 mph with mimicking arm-side run as the fastball. Could tap into more velocity in the future as he learns to drive off the mound and incorporate the lower-half more. Intriguing uncommitted right-hander in the 2026 class in Alabama.

Samuel Elleard OF / Spanish Fort High School, AL / 2026Rankings StateRank: 122 / POS: 26
Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 170-pounds. Lean, athletic frame. Long levers with room for added strength down the road. Continues to build off of prior performances and post above-average statistics and metrics across the board at these events and did so yesterday. Balanced right-handed stance with good rhythm throughout. Knob-led path to contact and really turns the barrel with intent using a strong top hand. Line drive, all-fields type hitter with a top EV of 90.9 mph during his round of BP while living gap-to-gap. Clocked a 7.02 60-yard dash and has been quicker in the past. Was also 84 mph from the OF with accurate throws to the plate. Well-rounded athlete who should only continue to improve down the road.

Matthew Hopkinson RHP / Homeschool, AL / 2026Rankings StateRank: 30 / POS: 10
Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 196-pounds. Starter build with strength through the frame. Possesses a clean, repeatable right-handed operation with gradual build of pace down the mound and has a fairly quick arm. Fastball continues to see jumps and features a five-pitch mix on the mound. Sitting 83-85 mph with natural arm-side run to his fastball and has a good command of it to both sides of the plate. Spins a slider at 75-76 mph with shorter break and spin rates around 2400 RPM and a curveball with more 11-5 break at 69-70 mph and spin rates around 2400 RPM. Slider tunnels well off the fastball. Also mixed in a cutter at 81-83 mph and a fading changeup sitting 75-76 mph with arm-side dive. Should continue to see gains in terms of velocity with a quick H 3/4 arm slot combined with a strong body. An initriguing uncommitted right-handed pitcher in the 2026 class in Alabama

Christian Thompson C / 1B / Alma Bryant High School, AL / 20296-foot-0, 178-pounds. Advanced physicality and strength for a prospect of his age. Does not look like the average rising eighth-grader with an impressive offensive profile. The right-handed bat is easily the most intriguing tool currently showing easy gap-to-gap power during his round of BP while posting consistent upper-80 EVs. Barrel works clean through the zone with elite bat speed for a prospect of his age and can impact the baseball at a high-level right now. Appears to not be just a big hitter who swings out of his shoes, as he showed the ability to drive the ball the other way during his round. Listed as a primary catcher and still some development to come no the defensive side at that position, but no denying the impressive ability from the right side of the plate.
