Initial 2027 Overall Rankings Release

Prep Baseball’s rollout of the 2027 class rankings is here, a modest initial look at the nation's top '27s as the prep journey begins for this young crop of freshmen.
As always, Prep Baseball’s boots-on-the-ground forces remain committed to covering all aspects and angles of amateur baseball, and this list is guaranteed to grow as talented prospects develop and are discovered. Whether in games, events, workouts, practices, or tournaments Prep Baseball will be there.
*** THE TOP-250 BOARD ***
In perusing the class for the first time a slew of potential premium arms, especially southpaws, stood out alongside a strong collection of high-ceiling position players. Texas’ OF Lash Henderson (Prestonwood Christian HS), a 6-foot-3, 190-pound dynamic athlete sets the pace as the top player in the class. Equal parts present performance and future potential, the right-handed hitter demonstrates intriguing upside with the ability to cover the plate in driving balls to all fields. Side by side with Henderson is Florida’s OF Chase Fuller (Maclay HS). The FSU recruit presents five-tool potential as an immediate impact player who already boasts advanced polish to his all-around game.
Meanwhile, the aforementioned defining characteristic of southpaws in the class is prevalently featured in the top-10, with four young arms included.
California’s LHP/OF Jared Grindlinger (Huntington Beach HS) looks the part of a true two-way player, and coming out of a storied high school program, his development is in good hands. The next three are each equipped with frames and arm strokes that are easy to dream on and ooze potential: Rylan McMahan (Clay HS, FL), Connor Wells (Dorman HS, SC), and Connor Salerno (Legion Collegiate HS, SC). Each features a fastball that runs up close to 90 mph, but it is the way all three move down the mound, and especially the way their arms work, that suggests there’s even more to come. Their positioning as potential left-handed starters drives value and will provide the opportunity to make quick advancements. 
Still, this group is hardly settled. There are numerous players still yet to be discovered and others just beginning their own journey of development. Through it all, Prep Baseball will be closely attentive as the ride to the summer of ‘27 is sure to hold lots of excitement.
