Our second week of Post-Summer Player Rankings Updates kicks off with the 2026 class. What may go down as one of the most talented classes the state of Florida has ever seen, the 2026 class just completed a big summer and is now able to talk and commit to colleges. With the summer in the rear view, let’s see where this class stacks up heading into the fall.

Top 5 Analysis

The top player in the 2026 class remains SS Jacob Lombard (Gulliver Prep). Still uncommitted, but will have plenty of options when he makes his decision. 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame, Lombard continues to be the premier player in this class and has the makings of an elite shortstop at the next level.

Coming in at #2 is LHP
Gio Rojas (Stoneman Douglas, Miami). Rojas has front-line starter potential. His fastball is up to 94 paired with a wipeout slider at 2900 rpm. The 6-foot-2, 175 is polished with an extremely high ceiling.

OF
Brady Harris (Trinity Christian Academy, Florida) is at #3. Harris is very toolsy and shows up in big games. Physical 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame. Hit and power tools are above average and continue to jump. Harris is a true center fielder with an above-average defensive tool.

Moving up to #4 is 3B/RHP
Coleman Borthwick (South Walton, Auburn). 6-foot-6, 240-pound frame. Borthwick is an athlete and moves well for his size. Immense strength at the plate and on the mound bodes well for him at the next level. Borthwick has real two-way ability and should be able to carry that on to the next level.

Rounding out the top 5 and one of this summer’s biggest risers is RHP/SS
Kaden Waechter (Jesuit). 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, and continues to add physicality. Uber athlete as a two-way, but on the mound is where is ceiling is highest. Clean operation with pitchability. Fastball up to 92 with a sharp slider and fading changeup.

Risers

RHP Denton Lord (South Walton) is a big-time riser in the 2026 class. 6-foot-8, 200 pounds. Fastball made the jump up to 92 this summer paired with above-average secondary offerings. Lord uses his frame well getting efficient extension on his fastball with 18+ inches of IVB.

SS
Yavier Rosendo (TNXL Academy, UCF) opened the eyes of many college coaches this summer. A big growth spurt/muscle gain has Rosendo at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds now. The glove at short has always been one of the more advanced in the class but the hit tool and especially the power has really ticked up leading to a commitment to UCF post August 1st.

Another big riser is RHP
Christopher Reali (Trinity Christian Academy). 6-foot, 190 pounds. Fastball plays well up to 91 with life. Generates swings and misses with that pitch. Slider continues to develop at 2600 rpm. Athletic mover with confidence on the mound.
