Yesterday we released the Updated and Expanded Florida Class of 2019 Rankings which included a number of jumps made by several players into the Top 25 after standout spring seasons and strong starts to the summer. This update also featured the rankings expanding to 200 players.

Today we will highlight six newcomers who entered the rankings and will be strong follows throughout the summer. Their full breakdown along with video is below:

Maxwell Romero Jr. C / Pembroke Pines Charter, FL / 2019 Rankings  StateRank: 15 / POS: 1 05/20/18- Vanderbilt recruit. Standing at 6-foot-1, 190 pounds, he may have the strongest lower half of the day. Defensively, he shows an above average arm, but his natural feel behind the plate is noticeable He moves around and directs traffic with confidence. He is an above average receiver and blocker, working in the 1.9-2.03 range he shows the makings of an above average all around defender. Offensively, he is what you look for in a left-handed hitting catcher. The swing is compact, with natural loft and shows an advanced gap-to--gap approach with pull side power and more to come. Overall, he is an advanced catcher with feel to hit and power potential from the left side, which will make him a big riser and a high follow.

Harrison Dorsett RHP / Niceville, FL / 2019 Rankings  StateRank: 26 / POS: 7 05/20/18- Ole Miss recruit, he stands at a projectable 6-foot-4, 195 pounds, with a live body, live arm and room to fill out. Working from a 3/4 slot, he has a deep takeaway in the back and is athletic and aggressive at footstrike. Fastball jumps out of the hand at 88-91 with late life and riding action. There is a lot of hand speed and has a whippy arm. Also threw a two-seamer at 87-88 moh with hard boring action. Showed a few average to above average potential sliders at 77-80 mph. Was most comfortable with changeup, which he threw three straight pitches at one point, working 82-85 mph with arm side sink. Overall, it's a projectable frame and arm action and would expect to make big jumps throughout the summer.

Anthony Tomczak RHP / North Broward Prep, FL / 2019 Rankings  StateRank: 38 / POS: 14 06/02/18- Stetson recruit. Projectable frame standing at 6-foot-3, 190 pounds with plenty of room to fill out. Displayed a fastball at 86-89 mph that shows some arm side run. Mixes in a big breaking curveball at 69-70 mph with depth along with a changeup at 79-80 mph with some sink. Has good extension on everything, works down in the zone, elevated when he wanted.

Kyle Mock 2B / SS / Bishop Moore, FL / 2019 Rankings  StateRank: 73 / POS: 2 01/27/18- Troy recruit. Currently stands at 5-foot-11, 180 pounds with a physical upper body and strong lower half. At the plate from the left side he shows a balanced approach with an uphill path through the zone, creating consistent, hard contact and pull side power. Ball jumps off the bat and looks to drive it with authority. Registered a 91 mph exit velocity in the cage. In the infield, he shows lateral quickness and fields the ball under control and with confidence. Throws across the diamond topped out at 79 mph and were accurate to the bag. Clocked in at 7.05 seconds in the 60 yard dash.

Lake Fisher 3B / RHP / Dunedin, FL / 2019 Rankings  StateRank: 81 / POS: 8 06/03/18- Showcasing a compact, quick arm, Fisher worked 87-90 with a fastball that featured late life. The delivery is simple and repeatable allowing him to find a consistent arm slot. His short, hard slider at 81-83 mph received multiple swings and misses, and given the aggressiveness with which he throws it, could become a plus pitch in the future. Also played third base on day three and hit in the middle of the order. Showed the ability to be an above average defender and has present bat speed and strength. Should be a big two-way follow.

Kyle Mandes RHP / Nature Coast Techincal, FL / 2019 Rankings  StateRank: 95 / POS: 27 06/03/18- Long and lean at 6-foot-4, 175-pounds, Mandes has a projectable frame that should continue filling out quickly in the future which will potentially give him a chance to see bigger jumps moving forward. The right-hander exhibited a more polished delivery which remains compact throughout, and allowed him to repeat his high ¾ slot with ease. His fastball sat 85-88 during his outing, and showcased some downhill plane as he controlled it in the zone, and showed some feel for moving it around. At times, his 75-77 slider showed sharp, later break, and looks to have a chance to be a potential weapon in the future. Overall, certainly looks the part on the mound, and if given the chance to progress, some college program may receive a future starter.
