It has been several months since we updated our 2021 rankings, and with another full high school season coming to a close, along with our Pre-Season PBR Events, we are proud to bring you our updated Texas 2021 Class Rankings. Our boots-on-the-ground scouting staff is constantly on the road evaluating talent throughout the entire year, from the High School season, travel ball in the summer, Fall League Games, or PBR Events, we aim to be your number one source for amatuer baseball scouting news. Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in Texas.

As players mature and develop at different rates, there are a number of factors to evaluate, from current skill levels, strength and speed, to long-term projectablity and athleticism. While players are constantly improving and making jumps in development, strength and skill set, our rankings can and will change as each class grows through normal progression over four years. Moving up to the No. 1 spot is RHP/SS Rawley Hector (Anna HS). A Texas A&M commit, Hector has a long, loose, projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 170-pounds. Not only does Hector start on varsity as a freshman, his fastball gets into the upper 80’s and he hits in the middle of the order.

At No. 2 is shortstop Izaac Pacheco (Friendswood HS). The left-handed hitting Texas A&M recruit has a projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 185-pounds. Advanced offensive approach, smooth rhythm, projectable power, natural lift, strength at contact and good barrel awareness. On the infield, Pacheco has soft hands, quick exchange and good feel for the left side of the infield.

Shortstop Jordan Lawler (Dallas Jesuit HS) is No. 3 on our list. Lawlar has a wiry, quick-twitch frame at 6-foot, 155-pounds. The right-handed hitter is an all around athletic player with a smooth swing.

Another Texas A&M recruit comes in at No. 4 in SS Ty Hodge (College Station HS). Hodge is a projectable, athletic right-handed hitter with a lean-strong frame at 6-foot-1, 170-pounds. The right-handed hitter makes strong contact and has an advanced feel for the barrel, aggressive base runner, high baseball I.Q.

Rounding out the top 5 is RHP/SS Drake Varnado (Port Neches Groves HS). A South Carolina commit, Varnado is an athletic two-way player with a quick-clean arm stroke on the mound and present strength at the plate. He not only looks the part with a projectable 6-foot-2, 155-pound frame, be he is a 7.0 runner with easy strides. On the mound, his fastball comes out clean at 83-85 mph, and he shows good feel for both a 69-72 mph curveball, and a 76-77 mph changeup. At shortstop, he has plenty of arm strength to stay on the left side of the infield (90 mph), and the right-handed hitter has strong hands and a short path with projectable gap power (87 mph exit velocity off the tee).

Other notable risers are RHP Chase Pelter (Kinkaid), CF Tyler Collins (McKinney Boyd), and catcher Chanden Scarmardo (College Station).
