Following the release of the riser article, we take a look at some of the newcomers in the updated 2019 rankings. This includes five players who have continued to improve and made a jump from the beginning of the summer to the end of the fall. There have been a lot of players make a jump, but we take a look at the five newcomers in this updated rankings.

Moving down from New York, an already highly touted young shortstop prospect, Florida recruit Isaac Nunez (Lake Brantley) comes into the Florida rankings at the No. 8 spot. The physical athletic shortstop has shown all around impressive tools. He has plus defensive actions with good footwork, a quick first step and works confidently and under control to the baseball. His hands also work very well with a plus arm from short. Offensively, he showed an advanced approach with plus speed. He got a little long at times, but shows an advanced feel for the barrel and will continue to get better with more at-bats. He also pitched, showing that strong arm ranging from 86-88 mph. All around very impressive with big time upside at a premier position.

Coming in at the No. 33 spot is Florida State recruit, SS Tyrell Brewer (Edgewater HS). The 5-foot-10, 135 pound shortstop has shown a lot of athleticism with a lot of room to fill out. He has shown athletic, quick twitch actions with the chance to be a high end defensive player. He has also shown a feel for the barrel with good rhythm and the swing will continue to improve as he gets more at-bats and continues to fill out.

The physical 5-foot-10, 165-pound Miami recruit, OF Michael Machin (Archbishop McCarthy) has an athletic projectable young frame and come in at the No. 36 spot. He has shown athletic outfield actions with enough arm and quick release. Loose quick bat with good strength for a young guy that has continued to create more power as he continues to fill out. Ball jumps off his bat. Has some present power and has continued to get better as he has physically matured. He shows a lot of upside on both sides of the ball.  

Coming in at the No. 37 spot is Alabama recruit SS Caleb Cali (Lake Mineolla). The projectable 6-foot-2, 185-pound shortstop shows a lot of athleticism in the middle with solid defensive action and enough arm to stay on the left side. The glove and footwork works well, but may have to slide to third as he continues to grow and fill out. Offensively, the right handed hitter has a feel for the barrel and some present pull side power, Although there is some length at times, there is a lot of potential and will continue to become more consistent creating more power with more at-bats.

Rounding out the newcomers at the the No. 58 spot is USF recruit RHP/SS Jack Jasiak (Springstead HS). The projectable 6-foot-1, 160 pound RHP/SS showed some all around athleticism. At the plate, the right handed hitter hits with a large leg kick and low hand load at launch. At times the hands did not launch from the same spot, resulting in some inconsistent and long swings. The second round he seemed much more comfortable, launching more consistently and on time resulting in a lot of hard contact driving balls gap-to-gap. Defensively he showed consistent actions at short, with good footwork and hands. He could create a little more fluidity through the ball, but that should come as he grows into his body and plays more games at the position. He showed an above average arm, which also translated to the mound. On the mound, from the stretch only, he showed a short quick arm with a fastball ranging from 85-87 mph topping out at 88 mph. There is a lot of projectability on both sides of the ball. With room to fill out and present bat speed he should develop above average power as well as have potential on the mound with a quick arm and more velocity to come.
