Uncommitted Spotlight: 2022 Armani Newton

This spring we will be highlighting players throughout the state with Uncommitted Spotlights. We will highlight one 2022, 2023, and 2024 player each week looking for a school to call home. The state of Florida is full of uncommitted players who have the talent to play at the next level. These players deserve as much exposure as they can get in order to help them find the right home.
Today, we will highlight 2022 Armani Newton. Armani is a 6-foot-2, 195 pound outfielder from John Carroll Catholic High School in Fort Pierce, FL. Outside of high school, Armani plays travel ball for Canes Florida. Newton is an athletic outfielder with a lot of physical tools to like. Flashes power potential with quick hands in the box. Newton stood out at the 2022 FL Preseason All-State and should be a high follow this spring.

Scouting Report
6-foot-2, 195-pound athletic strong frame. Solid in the box, Newton's best exit velocity was 95 mph. (73.0 mph bat speed average). (22.4 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth load, then used a controlled leg kick. Bat speed is quick, has a simple upward swing plane and balanced finish. Found multiple barrels with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Solid when throwing from the outfield, he showed off his strong arm with throws at velocities of 88 mph;shows a natural exchange, sure hands, and consistent feet. Fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally. Showed a loose arm action and a high ¾ slot. Established speed as one of his strengths with an efficient 60 time of 6.84.
