Earlier this month, SS/RHP Mac Horvath (Rochester Century HS, MN) went off at the Prep Baseball Report Future Games, collecting a home run and two doubles on the first day of games and making loud contact throughout the event. He also showed upside on the mound and was named MVP of the event. His time on the recruiting market didn’t last long as he committed to North Carolina earlier this week.
Also from Minnesota, OF/LHP Drew Gilbert (Stillwater HS, MN) showed legitimate two-way ability with quick hands and a loose finish at the plate as well as a fearless demeanor on the mound. He just committed to Oregon State.
Out of Colorado, there is news with draft implications. RHP Cole Winn, who was the state’s top prospect and at Silver Creek HS, CO, is moving to California. He is enrolled at Orange Lutheran HS, CA, one of the top programs in Southern California. At the Area Code Games earlier this month, the Mississippi State recruit was up to 94 with a swing-and-miss slider.
