Super 60 Spotlight: Jose Pena

On Sunday, Feb. 7, Prep Baseball Report will host the 19th edition of its prestigious, flagship event: the Super 60 Pro Showcase. Since the event’s inception in 2003, more than 300 players have been selected in the MLB Draft, including 22 first-round picks and 25 second-rounders.

We started our our march toward the Super 60 earlier this month, by highlighting the prospects set to join us, shining a light on their impressive player profiles that they've groomed through their high school years and beyond.


Scouting Report

Positional Profile: RHP - FIU, High follow draft prospect in the 2021 class.
Body: 6-foot-3, 205-pounds. Physical, athletic frame. Room to keep adding strength.

Delivery: Up tempo, repeatable delivery.
Arm Action: RH. High 3/4 arm slot. Quick arm with long to short action. Hides the ball well.
FB: T93, 89-93 mph. Natural ride in the top of the zone. Competitive pitch on both sides of the plate.
CB: 75-78 mph. 11/5 shape. True CB spinning action. Above average pitch with spin rates up to 2600.
CH: 78-80 mph. Fading action. Arm speed the same as a fastball. Above average pitch. Thrown for strikes in any count.
