Super 60 Spotlight: Dakota Stone

On Sunday, Feb. 6, Prep Baseball Report will host the 20th edition of its prestigious, flagship event: the Super 60 Pro Showcase. Since the event’s inception in 2003, more than 300 players have been selected in the MLB Draft, including 25 first-round picks and 26 second-rounders.

We've started our march toward the Super 60 by highlighting the prospects set to join us, shining a light on their impressive player profiles that they've groomed through their high school careers, leading them to this point, vying for the attention of the pro scouting community.


Scouting Report

9/25/21

Jacksonville Commit, 6-foot, 215-pound solid mature build. Above average projectable on the mound, showing lightning arm speed he used a ¾ arm angle and a long arm action. Tall-and-fall type pitcher who uses decent effort. Has an athletic balance point and uphill shoulders. Lands square with a falling off finish. Sat with his fastball at 88-91 mph and topped out at 92 mph; shows hard running action and command around the zone with heavy movement. (Max spin 2361; Avg 2204). He showed swing and miss action and down in the zone control on his tight curveball (71-73). (Max spin 2441; Avg 2351). Throws a sharp changeup (80-80) that shows in the zone control and fading action. Had in the zone control and hard sweeping action on his wipeout slider (73-76). (Max spin 2428; Avg 2386).
