Stoneman Douglas Advances to Regional Semis

Stoneman Douglas Eagles continued their undefeated season with a 14-1 victory over Monarch.

Ace Christian Rodriguez got the start on the mound for Stoneman Douglas. The right-hander lasted five innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out six.

Monarch got the scoring going in the first inning as Vincent Mercado hit a solo home run. That would be it for their scoring.

Stoneman Douglas got on the board and never looked back with nine runs in the third inning. A Devin Fitz-Gerald RBI single, Rylan Lujo two RBI single, Christian Rodriguez two run homer, Jackson Abram RBI single, as well as an Alex Rodriguez RBI single.

Rylan Lujo added an RBI double in the fifth to make it 10-1. With the bases loaded, Niko Benestad stepped up and hit a grand slam to center to end the game.
