FACA All-Star Game Rosters: North

The North All-Stars is probably the most spread out geographically. The north squad is lead by right handed power arm, Florida State signee, Cole Sands (North Florida Christian). Sands’ fastball gets up to 94 mph and is expected to be one of the top arms in Sebring. Sands has gotten a lot of attention from major league scouts this year.

UCF signee, INF Ryan Mountcastle (Hagerty HS), is one of the purest hitters in the state. Scouts differ on where he will play defensively but he has the one tool that plays, the bat. He is expected to be a good draft as well.

Another FSU commit, Tyler Holton (Tallahassee-Lincoln), is one of the top two-way guys in Sebring. Holt is an offensive outfielder with power and a LHP with pitchability, usually around 86-88 with a good curveball.

Behind the dish, the North squad will feature Ole Miss commit Nick Fortes (Deland HS), who is an offensive catcher with good power. His defense has been a little up and down, but for scouts who see him as an adequate defender, they may make a run at him in this upcoming draft. Another interesting arm is Mississippi State recruit, LHP Jared Padgett (Graceville HS). He is a big body with a good delivery and has been up to 90 in the past.

Also of interest is Matt Morales from Wellington HS, a Stetson signee and a slick fielding SS with good speed. He is the son of Alex Morales, Washington Nationals scout.
