Rawlings Stealth Scout Day Standouts
January 7, 2020
Today we take a look back at the top five standouts from the Rawlings Stealth Scout Day. The event, which took place just prior to Christmas, featured 25 players from the Stealth organization classes of 2023 and 2024. Today we look at the top five.
Louis Federico SS / 2B / The King's Academy, FL / 2023Federico was probably the top performer on the day. Stood out initial with how he moved defensively at short. Athletic and under control with rhythm and confidence in his hands. Offensively, he had the days best exit velocity of 85 mph. There is present bat speed with some feel for the barrel and plenty of upside.
James White OF / RHP / Lake Worth, FL / 2023Listed at 6-foot, 175 pounds, he looks much longer with a high waist and long limbs. Has some present leverage offensively, but stood out on the mound as he shows a live loose arm. When he was on time at extension, he topped out at 76 mph and as he matures has a chance to throw much harder.
Dean Polimeni Jr OF / C / St John Paul II Academy , FL / 2023A twitchy all around athlete, he played nearly every position. He has a quick arm and shows present athleticism. Offensively, he has a little rotation in the swing, but is level and shows potential. All around potential in multiple positions as he matures.
Aidan Nelson LHP / OF / Park Vista, FL / 2024The left-hander showed impressive all around feel on the mound. The arm action is compact and clean. He worked with a simple, repeatable delivery and stayed in line down the mound. Fastball worked 70-72 with plenty more to come with strength. Showed a real feel to spin the curveball and pitch shows potential to be above average with maturity.
Marlon Huff 1B / 3B / Santaluce, FL / 2024Very physical with present strength, but plenty of room to grow and mature. Strength plays offensively and overall showed future potential to hit with power.
