X-FACTOR
Jack Anderson. Anderson has been an ace for the Tiger’s each of the last two seasons, allowing only 13 earned runs in the last two years. He has always show a feel for pitching, but the stuff has made another jump and could dominate his way to the state title game again this season.
KEY PLAYERS LOST
RHP Jeff Hakanson (UCF)
RHP Price Sartor (Cornell)
RHP Drew Martin (Eckerd College)
OF Duncan Hunter (Jacksonville)
OUTLOOK
The Jesuit Tigers continue to reload talent, despite losing a group a very talented players from their State Final run in 2017. Leading the way in 2018 is Florida State recruit Jack Anderson. Anderson went 7-3 with a 0.79 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 70.2 innings. The stuff had made a jump this summer and fall and will have a chance to dominate the competition this spring. Offensively, the Tigers are led by a pair of Power Five committed players in McGuire Weaver and Joel Brewer. Weaver led the team in 2017 with a .400 average and had 2 home runs with 21 RBIs and was followed closely by Brewer who hit .392 with a home run and 17 RBIs. The experience and high end talent, paired with young talent brings Jesuit in at No 9 in the Preseason Power25.
