Preseason Classic: Vero Beach v Windermere - MVP Jake Randolph
February 16, 2020
The final game of the 2020 Preseason Classic was a high scoring affair between Vero Beach and Windermere. Vero Beach came out swinging as they put up 9 runs in just the first inning. Windermere slowly crawled their way back in the game backed by three home runs from uncommitted 2021 James Rivera, 2020 FSU commit Carson Montgomery, and 2022 Miami commit Blake Cyr. Cyr had himself a game as he collected three hits and 4 RBI to go along with his homer.
Vero Beach’s offense was led by 2022 Miami commit Jake Randolph who reached base in all 5 of his plate appearances. He had two singles, was hit by a pitch, reached on an error, and helped put the game away with a late RBI triple. Vero Beach would go on to win 13-9 and Jake Randolph is our Game 8 MVP.
